Scandinavia is a region in Northern Europe loaded with cool places to visit. Copenhagen, Denmark is among the coolest of them all. Well, we think it is, partially because of the crazy artefacts on display at the National Museum and the colourful neighbourhood of Nyhavn. Browse lastminute.co.nz’s splendid offers on Copenhagen packages and make your way north now.
Give yourself a big pat on the back—you made it to Copenhagen. Ditch the luggage at your Copenhagen accommodation and then make your way to the National Museum of Denmark, the country’s largest institution on cultural history. Check out the Golden Horns of Gallehus, which dates back to the German Iron Age. And don’t forget about the Snoldelev Stone, a runestone with ancient text and pictographs inscribed on it. This thing puts the pet rock to shame.
After your walk through the museum, go exploring in Nyhavn, the 17th-century waterfront canal district. The highlights of this area are the historical wooden ships—referred to as “Diversity” by Mr Ron Burgundy. There’s also plenty of restaurants, bars and shops throughout the neighbourhood that will keep you occupied for hours.
Your Scandinavian adventure will begin when you land at Copenhagen Airport (CPH), located 9 km from downtown. There are plenty of easy ways to get to hotels in Copenhagen. You can take several bus and taxi services from the terminals straight to the city centre. Would you prefer to ride the rails? Hop on the train at the airports railway depot and go straight to Copenhagen Central Station. Getting around the city is as simple as moving one foot in front of the other or hailing a cab.
Who wants to go to Scandinavia? We’re assuming one or both of your hands are held high in response to this question. Browse our phenomenal offers on Copenhagen hotels and book your stay in Denmark’s capital today. Who knows what you’ll discover tomorrow.
