Mohenic Hotel Seoul Myeongdong – 5-Part Review
This review covers five key aspects of the hotel: location, room condition and amenities, housekeeping, general observations, and the check-in process.
1. Location
The hotel is conveniently located next to Olive Young, near Myeongdong Station exits 5 and 6. For accessibility and convenience, the location is excellent.
One drawback is the elevator—it tends to be crowded, and you may need to wait through several rounds before getting in. An alternative is to use the elevator just outside Olive Young, which is often less crowded.
2. Room Condition and Amenities
The room interior appears outdated, with a design that seems over 30 years old. The toilet was clean, but the bed was not. One of the rooms had bed bugs, and the carpet had not been vacuumed. Two rooms were booked—one on the 16th floor with wooden flooring and a more modern look, and another on the 10th floor with carpet.
The 16th-floor room also had cleanliness issues. The trash was not emptied, and the bed sheets were not changed during the stay—lipstick stains noticed on day one remained until day six.
3. Housekeeping
Housekeeping was inconsistent. Basic cleaning tasks like trash removal and sheet changes were not carried out. Bed bugs were present in one room, causing visible bites. If staying here, consider bringing an extra layer of bedding as a precaution.
