Really enjoyed our stay here travelling back from Norway. We are a family of 4. Lovely to see a bit of rural Germany. Dinner, breakfast and customer service all very good. Dinner service ends at 8.30 (which was no problem for us at all), but worth being aware of if you are wanting food (which I would definitely recommend).

Great stay

Very good hotel with helpful staff, nice quiet surroundings for a run or bike ride. Family room with separate bedroom was a plus! Small but functional gym. Possible to charge the car another plus. Great restaurant with fresh food and that extra touch, even had wild boar. Everything felt like a higher standard than we payed for 😄

The hotel was in a lovely village and was very quiet. It was very clean and comfortable and had everything you needed. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The restaurant was extremely good with a varied menu and a good wine list. breakfast was excellent and extremely varied. If you are in the area this is a good place to stay.

Extremely kind and cheery staff at this lovey hotel. The only problem was that there must have beets dog recently in the room we used which triggered my friend’s asthma. The room was spotlessly clean and fresh. The stay was wonderful in every other respect. Good breakfast. Easy part. Quiet and peaceful setting ..

Not worth to be graded as 4-star

The hotel is situated in a small community Stemmen almost in the middle between Hamburg and Bremen. It is quite small surrounded by large areas of farms. Although it is graded as a 4-star hotel with spa, fitness and meeting facilities, it would be more appropriate to rank it as a 3-star because all these facilities are just limited and kept inside small rooms only. It would be a better health exercise if you go out for hiking or cycling in the beautiful countryside surrounding the hotel. It is still a good hotel with nice reception service and fitted with elevator even though there is only two floors. The bedrooms and washrooms are good enough for a comfortable stay. There is only one restaurant inside the hotel. So we have our dinner and buffet breakfast in the same place. But the biggest nuisance to us was large swarms of flies inside the restaurant and around the hotel. This must have caused a great hygienic problem for hotel guests as all the windows inside out room are fitted with wire nets. Free parking spaces are available near the front entrance.

We have stayed here many times and always found it wonderful. However, this was the first time we stayed in the middle of summer and found it less than ideal. There were no block-out curtains in the rooms so we were woken at 4am each day. The room also got very hot and there is no cooling. Sleep, for which we actually stay in a hotel, was hard to come by. We improved the situation by buying a roll of alfoil and covering the windows with it. We also asked for firmer pillows, since the soft feather pillows that the Germans have used for decades are not what we are used to. The option of firmer pillows would be great.

The room was clean and comfortable, but we had hot weather and no air conditioning. Opening the windows was not an option because of all the lighting in the yard, and because of the party across the road. The curtains have no block out and the sun woke us each morning at 4am. A bit too early for our liking. The breakfast was as good as ever, and we enjoyed the restaurant meals, though we had quite a wait for our food because the staff also had to service a big event in the reception rooms.
