The room wss excellent with disabled hand raile and a seat in the large level shower. The staff went out of there way to help me from the moment I arrived all in all very good friendly staff thank you leon for your help folding my wheelchair up and helping my brother in law put it in the van. Recomend this place to all
Very Clean and lovely room. I know we didn’t pay a fortune for us both to stay BB
and it was the Black Horses most basic room and was lovely. Very modern with almost everything we needed. Would stay again but Sunday evening bar meals finish at 6pm so best have your meal just before as no other food at the pub is available until breakfast. Which is fine but we had our meal at 2pm. No room service either so a bit peckish by 7ish. Not even a scone on offer but biscuits in room with tea and coffee. Restaurant open every other evening till 9pm.
Lovely and comfortable accommodation set in thr countryside just outside Newcastle. Loved the snug bar area with roaring fire and great choice of beers. Food was great and good value. Rooms were large and comfortable with everything you would need for either a short break or a business trip. Take time to find this next time you are in the area.
Absolutely gorgeous place with a great dinner and breakfast. MASSIVE room and bath (Oak room highly recommended) but take your own bubble bath! Really, really glad we had dinner and breakfast there because the food and service was insanely good. Check-in and out staff were extremely friendly and helpful too.
Stayed for one night and was the loveliest time!!! Room very spacious, warm, bed comfortable and staff were amazing throughout!! Food was excellent. Would definitely stay again!!!
I arrived at the premises and they were closed! No phone call to say they were closing or to ask about my arrival time. I ended up having to book another hotel. Returned to the hotel to give feedback and service was awful. No accountability taken for it an no offer of refund or another stay
We chose a bad day to go, there was a Christmas fare on in a marquee in the grounds and the place was packed out with every available member of staff busy in the restaurant, so there was no one mannig the reception, so, we did as the notice on the door said and asked a member of staff to check us in, and although she was rushed of her feet she got us checked in along with another couple who had also arrived. That was the only delay we had during our two night stay. The room (Sage) was warm, comfortable and very clean. The food was top notch too apart an amour plated topping on the steak pie, but the steak was as tender and tasty as you like. The staff were spot on, very polite and attentive without being overly so.
Apartment was gorgeous, great size very clean. Friendly helpful staff lovely place to stay.
With being in lower apartment though you can hear every movement from the ones above, very frustrating overnight even hear the toilet flushing and filling back up. There was a wedding on when we were here so apartment 4 was very vocal and loud at 1am in the morning yapping outside there apartment, shouting on Rachel.
Only stayed for 1 night after a trip to Beamish Living Museum. Hotel was ok but food (dinner) wasn't nice at all. I got the steak and ale pie and the pastry was rock hard, couldn't get a normal knife through it. I must say, the food was piping hot which was great though. Told the waitress, and all she said was, ok, i'll tell the chef. Breakfast again was piping hot and delicious. Overall, we probably wouldn't stay again
