The location of this hotel is excellent, but unfortunately the property is very outdated. The lifts are unreliable, and the rooms and bathrooms are in need of refurbishment. Our TV wasn’t working during our stay, and there was no maintenance staff available on the weekend to fix it. For a hotel of this standard, having maintenance support available at all times should be expected.

VERY dated hotel, the area is noisy on a Saturday night, air con was ineffective. I think you can get a superior hotel for not much more nearby.

The air conditioning in my room was excessively noisy, nor was it possible to switch it off. The bath was too short to lie down in, and almost too narrow to stand in when showering. The shower curtain was too long, constituting a trip hazard.

We have stayed at this property on numerous occasions when it was a Holiday Inn property and Rydges property. We have always loved it, until now! The property is VERY tired, and the bath in our first room was dirty. Why I say first room is that we were on a two night stay, but unfortunately our room was not serviced after the first night. My husband reported this at reception at approximately 3pm and yet it still wasn’t done when we came back after dinner. The staff claimed we had a Do Not Disturb sign on the door, an obvious lie as fresh towels had been put in the room. My husband had to insist something be done and they eventually moved us to another room. There were no little extras as on previous occasions, staff were uninterested, service poor and we definitely will not be returning!

Great location and staff

The location is fantastic, cannot be beaten. A very short walk to the harbour bridge and opera house. Lots of dining options, great cafe’s. Local shops, pharmacy and more within 200m. The staff were super helpful and friendly and nothing was too hard. Beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. The property is dated but upgrades are planned, in saying that it had a good TV and the bathroom was ok.

We appreciate the location and loved the set up of our room and place to stow luggage above the drawers. The view was amazing. This is our hotel of choice when coming to the Sydney. The staff was extremely helpful especially the front desk ladies on Thursday and Friday. We also were grateful for the gym passes for anytime fitness within 10-15 min walk. Looking forward to our next stay.
