I've stayed at this hotel roughly 12 years ago and it's fair to say that not much has changed between then and now. However, it is still a beautiful heritage-listed building, within close walking distace to Circular Quay and the Overseas Cruise Terminal. The room was well-suited for what we needed. The only disappointment for us was that our TV was not working.

Fantastic location, but a bit old-fashioned

The hotel's location in the Rocks is excellent and very close to the bridge as well as a short walk to the Opera House and Circular Quay with its ferries and trains. We were lucky in that there were no large cruise ships in port during our stay which meant that we had incredible views of the Opera House from our 6th floor window (the cruise terminal sits between teh hotel and the OH so suspect that some large ships may impede the view). The Pool area is a welcome facility on a hot day even though the Spa was not working. The hotel shows its age and there are for example some torn or worn patched of carpet that have been patched up with tape. The hotel and the furnishings feels old-fashioned and in need of modernisation. The breakfast offering is very disappointing in terms of both quality and range. Reception staff are extremely friendly and helpful however.

Overall our experience was good however I was a bit disappointed in the breakfast served. You pay a lot of money and most of the bays were empty and what was there was either undercooked or just didn’t look appealing. We stayed twice and the second time we choose to eat at a cafe around the corner. Reception staff were brilliant and rooms were nice enough for our needs.

The location was absolutely perfect! The Rocks area offered so many options for dining, sightseeing, and shopping. I would definitely stay here again. It's an older building with some outdated decor but the central location makes up for it.

We were going to a concert at the Opera House an easy pleasant walk. We came in by the train from the airport, also an easy wakl to the hotel. Tripping around by ferry, train and bus so close.

The location was perfect, roof top view if Harbour Bridge & Opera Center. The room was a little dated but we enjoyed the quaintness of the hotel. Staff were very good. Good breakfast. We travelled in the fall so the pool was a little chilly. I definitely recommend the hotel. Would stay there again for sure

While the rooms are a bit dated, the hotel is situated perfectly for a Sydney stay. The staff were fabulous- service was above & beyond expectations. Breakfast was good & had a good variety. Couldn’t fault our stay and will definitely stay there again.
