No sorry room was not spotless two empty bottles under bed, the safety drain was completely blocked with fluff and debris I was quite shocked the whole complex need some love and attention to details eg wooden handrails on steps need repair showing rotting wood , lots of a good clean up needed on outside eg a good water blasting on steps paintwork ect poor place was looking tied and in un loved state sorry to say As there is so much competition in Taupo they need to up there game Windows on back wall facing very over grown hedge moss on windows, gardens just need he attention to detail . Yes I was hotel manager for many years these thing are equally important as the lovely front of house personal Which I might add were very helpful friendly personal I absolutely hate doing this but I hate to see businesses go down hill by lazy staff or management

Of all our stays in New zealand this was very poor Shower had black mold growing on a large portion of grout, and shower door, water temps went from scalding hot to icy cold. During the night there was a leakage of water? into the contents of my suitcase requiring washing & drying of all affected contents.also my brand new expensive jacket now has stains in in from the leakage Television required repairing in our room while we were in room. skylights in covered check-in area were covered in heavy black mold . staff was pleasant and friendly especially Mabel i’m sorry i cannot recommend this hotel for the overall conditions signed Greg lepping

Lovely Receptionist, welcoming and friendly. Good location and quiet. Room was spacious and clean, bathroom was spacious but shower was a bit mouldy. Convenient parking.

Tired based on age of property. TV was meant to be 42 inch, closer to a 32 inch. Nice to have a desk and chair. Ample pillows and nice, comfy beds, soft, medium and hard so a goldilocks choice. Linen clean. Toilet paper and milk not replenished for second night. Cobwebs in window sill recess even after housekeeping done. Restaurant, limited options but what we got was 10/10. Shanks and steak. Breakfast limited, based on options $20 would have been a fairer price.cost scrambled eggs so perfect, warm, soft and not watery, hash browns overcooked so dry. Noted mugs had old coffee stains, time to buy new ones. Dining chairs a bit hard at edge and got uncomfortable. Internet not great on second night probably as full occupancy compared to 30;percent previous night. Staff were pleasant, however didn’t ask if we had any issues.

The beds need upgrading as one was not level and the mattresses were quite uncomfortable. The bathroom ceiling was covered in dead flies. All very basic.

Though he property is old, I can see the evidence that the management is doing there best to rectify the issues mentioned in the past reviews. The location is excellent, close to restaurants and walking paths. The staff is friendly and professional. Enjoyed my stay and will stay there in future.
