Arrived at the check-in counter at 10:30pm. Two hotel staff were at the counter. We were the only guests arriving at that time. Both clerks pretended not to see us for several minutes. We stood at the counter. They kept “busy” on the other side of the counter. I eventually asked one: “Would you be able to check us in?” Her reply was “No. I’m going off shift.” The other clerk eventually checked us in. He seemed to do so grudgingly. Bizzare, considering I had a reservation. I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in my career as aircrew - sometimes nearly 200 room nights a year). I’ve had all sorts of check-in experiences. I’ve never had a check-in as perfunctory or sour as this one. Elevator smelled of smoke. Room was meh. Mattress had a sag in it on one side of the bed. The whole experience had a “sketchy motel” feel. The Hampton Inn brand has obviously gone downmarket. Fortunately, we were only there for six hours before we departed for our connecting flight. We didn’t try the breakfast. See and avoid Hampton Inn YYZ.

Upon arrivsl at Pearson airpory called the hotel for detsils as to where to catch the shuttle her english was poor so I had to ask seversl times after my second reqyest to tepeat instructions she hung uo on me fircung me to take a taxi fior 25.00 At the hitel she denied she hung up they refused to reimburse the 25.00 would not provde heir naes when i asked i'm freqyent yraveller and have silver staus at Hilton THIS IS THE WORST RUN HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT SHIUKD BE ZERO STARS
