The hotel room was comfortable and and well equiped and in addition the restaurant facilities were very good with a good choice on both the breakfeast and diner menus. Car parking was easily accessed with more than adeuate space. Finally all the staff were friendly and happy to please.

Ideal location friendly hotel

Nice large room, welcome aircon on arrival in heatwave. Plenty of space for clothes. Comfy bed and pillows. Large shower room. Fresh supply of biscuits, tea and milk each day. Unfortunately no sugar, went to reception who apologised and got some from cupboard near room but only few cubes left. No sugar was supplied for rest of the week. Bought sugar in local shop. Marvellous views from balcony area in bar overlooking countryside. Plenty of parking spaces. Hotel ideally situated near train and bus station - just 10 min walk downhill.

POOR. Will not stay there again.

This hotel was brilliant when new but maintenance and cleaning have not kept up. Look in room 26: The bathroom door didn't shut properly, the sink is partially blocked, the handwash next to the sink was missing. Black mould in the shower, filthy ceiling extract filter. Room servicing: We stayed for 7 nights. On arrival there was a bottle of water plus the usual tea bags, sugar, milk and coffee. These were not replenished each day. The tap water tasted awful, I had to ask for sugar and for drinking water from reception. How difficult is it to do a daily replenishment. Our room wasn't serviced at all on one day. The room itself was dim and the bathroom dimmer. LED lights ned to be installed as s as possible. Overall for the price charged, I expected much higher standards. This is a competitive market and with numerous Premier Inns and Travelodges in the area The County Arms needs to buck up or it will not survive.

Very noisy from traffic and shouting till very late. Bathroom is shower over bath so not great if you want to wash hair. Menu very basic difficult to find a healthy choice. For the price was not good valued that didn’t inc bfast. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly.

Always very well looked after by the team here and this year was no differet. The rooms are nice and spaciouis and the high quality bed linen/towels etc. make is to much more pleasant. Restaurant menu is a bit more curtailed than my last visit, but that is commonplace everywhere I believe - still a decent variety of options.
