Not luxurious, but very clean and comfortable. There is no elevator, so be aware if you are travelling with folks with mobility issues that they will have to use the stairs unless you get a a first floor room

I loved the location of this hotel. It was very easy to get to via the Vaporetto and Google Maps. Many food choices within minutes, close to canals, and just a few minutes from the square. My room was clean, the air conditioning worked, and there was a mini refrigerator. I had a single room but after a long time of traveling throughout Europe, it was nice to have my own bathroom/shower with a hairdryer! I would stay again.
We had a great stay at Hotel Rio! This place was maybe even better than the photos. The AC worked perfectly in very hot weather which was super important to us (in the heat of July). Staff was helpful and friendly. Easy to keep bags in storage early or late. Would recommend!
The staff was amazing! They had a lot of patience with my friend and me. Took time to write back and forth. Took time to find resources for us.
The bed was hard. The room was very warm (As an American, I guess I am not used to this warm room).
Other than this, overall, it was wonderful.
The location was excellent, but it advertised as having air conditioning and we went through two different rooms that the staff said the air conditioning was working, but it definitely was not. It was like sleeping in a sauna.
This hotel is definitely a budget level hotel with very few amenities. We did not eat the breakfast so I do not know about it. The staff was quick to respond to all of my emails and questions, which was a huge help while planning our trip. They took my bag up a flight of stairs to our room. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. It is located in an area with restaurants and other shops so it was noisy at night but it did not bother us. It was close to the area where the public transportation is. The price was good for Venice.
The room was very small, it was hard to navigate with just two people. The cleanliness was sub par as there were squashed bugs left in the ceiling and shower when we entered the room. Also, we ended up getting stopped by city tax people while we were on a tour and apparently we were supposed to register on a website and keep a QR code on us. We didn’t know we were supposed to do this and our tour guide mentioned that the hotel is supposed to let us know about it. Overall, we were pretty happy to leave the hotel.
The average of the Hotel was very good, Mateo and Francesco at the Reception were excellent included Irina at Breakfast too, but there was this girl on Sunday, at the Reception Desk that honestly I could believe how rude she was!!! I never experience such an unwelcoming and she she didn't not have a clue on how to emphasize with guests, she should be in that position, to be honest dealing with her spiñoid the entire weekend!!!
Great location just off San Marco Square. Easy access to vespetto stations, gondola stations, San Marco Basilica, Doge Palace and the Rialto area is a short walk.
There was no elevator; there was no 24/7 receptionist; no one cared to help with the luggages since there was no elevator during check out; the front door are always left open at night due to guests arriving late, and made me feel unsafe: things i liked: the room and the hotel was clean and near the vaporetto.
We stayed at Rio Hotel for several nights, and our stay was very pleasant. The hotel staff are friendly, and the staff member who checked us in also helped take one of the suitcases up to our room. There is no elevator, so keep in mind that you will have to transport everything you have up at least one flight of stairs. That said, having a third story view on the little square outside the hotel was great. Our 18-month daughter loved to people watch from the window as we prepared for the day.
The rooms were updated and clean. And one the best conveniences of this hotel is its proximity to San Marco. During a chilly January week, this hotel was warm, and aside from the lack of an elevator (which is understandable given the age of the buildings) we had a wonderful stay.
