This place is delightful . The property is old so don’t expect luxury. But if you want a comfortable, local kind of stay with a gorgeous view on a hilltop, a nice little patio, reasonably equipped rooms with microwave and mini fridge, and some super friendly owners who really try to talk with you and take care of you- this is it! They gave us great advice on local activities, checked in on us often, and made us comfortable. My kids loved the place because horses are on the property. Highly recommend staying here if you want to be in Isabel near the ferry!

First, we we’re greeted by Penny, a charming lady that took the time to explain all we needed to know about vieques with a map, she offered water, beach towels. There is light breakfast available in the morning for the guests. The property is so magestic! You instantly feel relax! The room was clean, comfortable, with everything we needed. On the property there is a small pool, 9 horses and alot of chickens! We loved the country homie vibe. Kelly was a wonderfull host that really cares about her guests. If we ever come back to vieques, thats where we will stay again, no hesitation! A big thank you for the hospitability! ツ

Kelly was incredibly informative and helpful. She provided several instructional videos and advice. The property has outdoor hammocks, horses, iguanas and chickens (the roosters loved talking to us). Felt like we could tap into nature and relax in seclusion. We would recommend a car rental to get around the island. I wish we stayed more days.

This was a GEM on the island of Vieques. We wanted to stay longer here! Up on the hill in a little tropical paradise, surrounded by beautiful jungle plants and flowers, we loved sitting out on our porch and just listening to the animals and critters plus seeing that view of the city. In my opinion, this was the best place to stay on the island. It really made our stay in Vieques magical. The ladies who run the hotel are so so helpful and I can’t thank them enough for everything! If we ever get back to Vieques, we will for sure be staying here again!❤️

Loved this property. The owners are originally from US mainland, so easy to communicate with. Lots of wildlife around the place. Location is close to everything. Loved the wildlife on vieques except when the roosters start crowing at night.

Great base for exploring Vieques

We had a wonderful time at Sea Gate! Kelly and Penny were both very helpful with directions and making recommendations for restaurants, car rentals, beaches, etc. We stayed for 4 nights and at first we had a bit of culture shock regarding the town. That was totally on us and we quickly felt safe and at home. The locals are lovely, hard working people and we loved interacting with them and hearing about the pride they have in their community. My absolute favorite part of our trip were the horses. I’ve loved riding my whole life and seeing all of the beautiful wild horses around the island and then riding Penny’s rescue horses around the town and to the beach was a dream come true. Highly recommend this hotel and horse ranch to everyone looking for a wonderful adventure!

Stayed here for only one night and it was good! My only thing is it is upper hill so I was solo and I also had a luggage that had some issues so going up the hill was difficult. Also mosquitoes are bad there so a mosquito spray is a must, in the living room of the hotel I was getting bitten by mosquitoes.
