I liked the location and staff at the Schooner Inn. It is at the south end of the Beach, close to a great playground and a short walk to Waterman's for a great meal. The problem was the noise of quests getting drunk and partying until 2 am while their children were yelling and crying.

AC sounded like a jet taken off. They ended up putting me in another room where the AC was loud but at least it wasn’t making a high-pitched noise. The room stayed between 74 and 76°. The place is in disrepair. I guess you get what you pay for.

We stayed in room 224. We sweated through 76° in our hotel room because the AC system is not functioning properly and has not been for a good while. They are not on today’s updated cooling systems but they’re on a water-based cooling system so the best it can do is 20° cooler than outside working at premium conditions. I learned from an insider that the fire suppression system has not been working for months and the owner apparently has no intention of fixing it. But don’t think that the staff does not care! The staff gets five star rating every single person we came in contact with went above and beyond trying to make up for the issues we were having. They were helpful. They were polite. They were friendly, but I was told room 224 is not the only room on the property with this issue and there are some that can have nothing done for it. At least our room had a part that could be reopened a couple of times every day. I don’t know why someone would own a vacation property and not be willing to put any money in it to keep it up. I wondered what I could do to help the staff out but was told the owner is on the city council so there’s not much I could do. Period as I said the staff was great but the room, well, it wasn’t hit on much except hot!

The rooms are in desperate need of updating - could be cleaner - especially bathrooms - doors need washed down or painted, runners need to be put down in the area leading to the elevators the floor was constantly wet and a fall risk. The coffee pot leaked and ran into the microwave which we as customers had to wipe the microwave every time we used it. The door stop in the bathroom has so much dirt and filth around it. The comforters desperately need updated - had to pay a $50 fee in case anything got broken which nothing did. Would like my $50 refunded to me immediately-

We've been coming to Schooner for a few years and it feels like a little home at the beach for us. We like being down at the end of the boardwalk. Close good dining options. Affordable and spacious rooms. The hotel is showing some age. The A/C was struggling to keep up with heat. The staff is pleasant and helpful.

It was a good stay. Great customer service. I was able to get mail delivered to the hotel due to needed stuff. They signed for it and called the room. Cleaning service and host are very nice. Only issues had was the people smoking on the balcony. The smell of weed and cigarettes and cigars. Smoke free hotel.

The check in staff is very courteous and helpful. Being open 24 hours is perfect because we checked out in the early morning hours. The room was quiet but the air conditioning did have a hard time cooling the room during the day. It was in the 90° range though. There were people sleeping in there cars in the parking lot, they didn’t have parking passes on the mirror. Overall our stay was good. Thank You.

We had issues with cable box which was fixed immediately. However, our safe did not work and parts needed to repair never came during our stay. Staff were extremely friendly/

The front desk staff, Robert was very friendly and shared information with us. Thank you! Love the fact that even when you check out at 11am, your parking pass, use of the swimming pool and a bathroom facility with a shower is available to use until 2pm! What a great asset!
