The location of The Grand Oaks Resort is excellent—nestled right in what feels like a forest park, offering a peaceful and scenic atmosphere. The buildings themselves are full of history and character, and beautifully designed. In autumn, the red leaves climbing the walls create a stunning and memorable view. Inside, the public spaces such as the lounge, dining room, and bar all carry a strong sense of heritage. The corridors are especially charming, combining a tasteful mix of vintage style with modern artistic touches, which makes the whole property feel very engaging and unique. The room was spacious, with a large and very comfortable bed. The bathroom layout was well designed with separate wet and dry areas. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. The interior décor continues the vintage theme, but still feels fresh rather than old-fashioned. The air conditioning was also very comfortable. A small suggestion for improvement would be attention to detail in housekeeping—for example, checking bathroom amenities like shampoo and body wash are fully stocked, and ensuring thorough cleaning of the bathroom floor, sink, and around taps to avoid any trace of mould. This would further elevate an already very enjoyable stay. Overall, we truly enjoyed our time here and would definitely return. The resort is a beautiful place, and its proximity to the city centre—within walking distance—makes it even more convenient.

Great place to stay in Wangaratta. Staff friendly & amenities and rooms excellent. Onsite restaurant and bar are excellent. Nice touch getting your windscreen cleaned in the carpark before we left.

Great little spot to stay. Clean and spacious room, perfect for four adults. The breakfast was a great little extra. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We had a perfect stay here. The property managers were so friendly and accommodating to our needs. Our room was super clean and had all the amenities to make a comfortable stay (microwave, toaster and kettle, plates, bowls, cutlery sets, mugs, wine glasses, etc.). The pool looked clean, although we didn’t get time to enjoy it. We also got our milk, facial tissues and toiletries replenished the next day when they had their staff making the rooms, very attentive service!

It was all excellent except the fact the receptionist couldn’t accommodate a 1hr lat check out which was slightly disappointing
