Walking distance to the National Arboretum

Spacious room especially good for large groups of people with free breakfast. Walking distance to National Arboretum and National Bonsai and Penjing Museum. You need a car to get around other tourists spots. First floor rooms that are close to the street intersection are noisy. The shower faucet in my bathroom has cold/hot switches installed wrong, with cold side having the hot water.

We are from Canada and had no idea where this hotel was located. We read the reviews and thought it sounded good. We showed up and noticed there were no vehicles in the parking lot. Thought that was strange since the hotel beside it had lots of vehicles. Then we went in and we seemed to be the only ones there. We were relying on the public transit system. There are no restaurants or grocery stores close by so you have to travel to eat. We then left and realized it was a long commute and the neighborhood was not the best. There was a dead rat outside.. 😳. So, we decided to locate to a different place the next day because we did not feel safe. Our Uber driver asked why us 3 women were staying there when it was known as a hotel that is rented out by the hour and in a very shady part of town. We had no idea. Expedia tried their best to get our money back but the hotel would not budge. Our safety was worth more.

We had a quick trip to DC to look at colleges and this hotel was okay, we wanted something inexpensive. Be aware the area near the hotel is run down, not convenient to downtown especially with traffic it can take you 30-40 minutes to go 5 miles. I also did see one roach which was gross but I guess you pay for what you get. For one/two nights it’s okay but if you can stay elsewhere I would do that. Breakfast wasn’t anything but the same eggs, sausage and bad coffee. I would give this hotel 2 stars and a C since the roach did kill the rating.

High price for quality of room and environment

The beds were comfortable and clean. Bathroom was clean but felt like short cuts were taken with repairs. Room had some damaged art frames and desktops. Elevators had shortcuts used to cover issues on wall panels. 2nd night we found a small baggie outside elevator on ground that looked like drugs and we reported to security guard in lobby who said he would take care of it.

I stayed here in March. Bought a package through Expedia. When I checked out they charged me again for the hotel. Today marks a month with over a dozen phone calls, promises to return my calls with an answer-never happened, and I’m still out $500. Ms Hawkins-the manager, told me from the beginning that it was a computer issue and it was the hotel’s fault. That the auditor was returning my money and it’s never happened. She told me today that there was nothing else she could do for me. I feel as though a theft has occurred

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The front desk staff were unfriendly and unhelpful throughout our stay. Our keycards stopped working every single time we left the room, and when we asked for them to be reactivated, the receptionists gave us attitude—as if it was our fault that all three keys constantly malfunctioned. It felt like basic hospitality was missing, and we were made to feel like a burden for needing access to our own room.
