A Typically British Seaside Hotel

A friend and I had a lovely stay at this Westcliff Hotel having enjoyed an evening at the theatre nearby. Room had a sea view, twin beds were comfortable, breakfast was good, bar service was good, staff lovely and friendly. Bedding and towels were clean, toiletries were provided, walk in shower nice and hot. Sadly though like a lot of our seaside hotels, it is very 'tired' and needs some refurbishment. Have stayed here before and would stay again - will remember my plug for charger next time as sockets not updated with USB connections!

It’s OK

The hotel is in need of some refurbishment, the mattress on the bed was also quite worn. The staff are super friendly we couldn’t fault them at all. If you want a cheap hotel for the night then this should be ok !

Disappointing

Abit of a disappointment! Postives: Friendly service Decent size rooms, bathroom was big. In a good location Superior rooms come with lovely sea view Comfy beds Negatives: Cleanliness was lacking! Smears down side of wardrobe, bathroom with mould, although the seaview was lovely the outside of windows were so dirty you couldnt see out very well. We found a beer bottle lid on the floor as soon as we walked in, so it was obviously not cleaned well between customers! The restaurant is very expensive compared to the quality of the food, would recommend if you do stay you eat elsewhere. Dated decor, paintwork chipped on walls. Just overall feels like this hotel is trying to be something its not! Due to the dirty scruffy feel we would not recommend and unfortunately wouldnt stay again, which is disappointing due to its close location to beach, town and cliff pavillion

Pleasant stay

Friendly staff and good location. Nearby restaurants and within walking distance of adventure island. The family room has two separate bedrooms which is great. Slight downsides is the room was a bit tired and had slight damp smell. Also there is no blind in bathroom although the glass is obscured you would be able to see through the window from the houses across the street at night.

We enjoyed our stay at Westcliff Hotel. On arrival your receptionist helped with the on street parking as we were having a problem with the Ringo app. Staff were helpful and curteous. Our room was clean apart from black mould around the sink and edges of bath. The top of the wardrobe was very dusty. We were going to put our suitcase there. It would be nice to have more compimenary milk and coffee provided.

Well situated hotel, a little tired in appearance but I didn’t expect the Ritz. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall a pleasant place to stay, but neither poor nor excellent.

Tired room, needs a make over.

Room was very tired, a couple of health and safety issues, no non slip mat in bath/shower, stand for kettle loose on shelf. Blood on sheets, bed headboard was worn and leaving black specs on pillows.
