The rotating door is not big enough for clients with walking stick and case. The toaster needs adjusting of replacing as it either burns it or just heats up the bread - get a pop up toaster that everyone can use, the former wastes bread and time Staff are really helpful except with the toaster.

Great value hotel on Weston-super-Mare's seafront

Arrived at the hotel about 12:40am, and was met by a very friendly night manager, who quickly signed me and and explained where my room was. Luckily I had been upgraded to a sea view single, which had a fabulous view (I saw when I woke up). The room was compact, clean and functional (portable heater and fan contained in the wardrobe). The decoration was ok, the only issue i had with the room is the floor. You couldn't walk without the floor creaking and I was concerned that it was 1:15 am and I must have sounded like I was marching up and down to the person below. The shower was powerful and had plenty of hot water. Overall the hotel was good, clean and functional. Yes the decor is tired and I'm sure in the 80s or 90s it was an amazing room, but at the ptice I paid for what I needed, it was ideal and will stay again if I need a one night stay. The bed linen was very clean and crisp

Tired and dated

not the best experience on a return to this Hotel. Lady sitting behind the counter didn't know I was waiting to check in, behind another couple ( I was checked in by a young gentleman who was very polite) which I felt like I was an inconvenience to be honest! The Double Room (Sea View) slightly smaller than I have had in the past - well, I don't believe this room should have been let! wonky pictures - wall paper and plaster peeled and exposed - tatty window area - hole in bathroom behind door, tired and run down is the best description - bed felt like the it had sunken on the side I was trying to sleep. I would like to thank the attentive and polite lady in the dinning area during Breakfast, Thank You, the light amongst the mess. ( who friendly remembered me the next morning with a cheery smile and ask if I'd like the same again)

Great Hotel

Information book in room would help. Wonderfull staff always a smile. The grand atlantic does need a refurb, but the market it is aiming at would not pay the extra it would cost. It is wonderfull building and needs looking after, we enjoyed our stay and can recommend the resturant for dinner, breakfast was also fantastic.

I'll start with the positives. All the staff I interacted with were quite friendly and I also received an upgrade to a double room with a sea view that I didn't ask for. This meant that my room was very spacious and there was a built in wardrobe that was also spacious enough to easily accommodate my clothing. There was also sufficient hangers, which was another plus and finally, the toilet and bathroom was also very spacious. So, these are the things that prompted me to give 3 stars and not one or two. Now I'm sure that when this gothic hotel was first built in the 1850s it was indeed "Grand." But unfortunately, over the years any grandness that existed has long disappeared into the mists of time. The place is falling to bits, paint and wallpaper are peeling off the walls, and even though my room had clearly been serviced so that the basics were in order, I found the hotel in general to be quite dirty. The windowsill, for example, in my room was filthy. I slept well in the bed but I wouldn't stay here again. Please..drop the "Grand" and change the name to plain old "Atlantic."
