Good value for money and situated right next to the cathedral. Not the most attractive externally though.

Friendly, helpful front of house staff
The location is superb. The room furnishings tired but comfortable. Reception staff were excellent with local advice. Breakfast service and buffet range brilliant. House kerping poor. My bed was never made over 4 days, the body wash ran out and wasn't replaced, my towels were replaced daily which l didn’t require and the coffe/ tea rooms supplies a bit haphazard.
Rooms very small but manager found us something larger,
Breakfast far too expensive for three of us on business trip so off to Weatherspoons we went. Convenient position for restaurants and shopping.

Great location, friendly, welcoming reception staff. Nice size room with a lovely view of the Cathedral. Room was a bit tired and could do with a bit of updating, especially the bathroom but was adequate for our needs.

Unfortunately both my husband and I were quite shocked at how dated this hotel was. The room we were staying in resembled a nursing home with really old dated dark furniture and an old people’s arm chair in the corner. The halls of the hotel are similar to a 1980s office building with all the room doors in dark wood that’s all scuffed. On a positive note the bed was very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep and location is good but definitely not worth the £148 which we paid for a standard double room with parking. We wouldn’t stay again.
Interesting stay. The common areas are lovely, although parts need better upkeep, for example there was rubbish under chairs in the upstairs seating area for over 12 hours. The breakfast is not worth the money, and the scrambled eggs were extremely salty to the point of being inedible, this was rectified and the guy hosting was helpful but it was obviously not a favourite as we were the only ones eating there. The room itself needed help. The bit we were put in felt like a hostel. Very much! Not fancy at all. Bathroom needed better cleaning and updating, there was a mini bar fridge switched off and mouldy! I couldn’t sleep well as the sheets were scratchy, pillows awful and the noise from others tvs very loud. Honestly I expected more from such a fabulous hotel location. Wouldn’t stay again.

Always a convenient place to stay
A very convenient hotel to stay in Winchester to meet up with friends. We have stayed in this hotel quite a few times and whilst being comfortable it could do with an upgrade.

Like this hotel having stayed before. The room was very comfortable and generally quiet although we did get an early wake up (before 06.00) due to refuse collection but it has to be done. The only points we were not particularly impressed with was that the bathroom bin had not been emptied before we arrived and contained used sanitary products. Also, for the price we would have expected the bed to be made and it wasn't.
My room had been given to another guest by the time I got there about 5:30pm.
Also other members of my booking had to wait for 40 mins at reception for checkin and then when they did their keycard did not work!
Our room was on 3nd floor but opposite side to the Cathedral. Was wakened up with lorries unloading on our side of the building. Great pity. The showers required updating as difficult to control water temperature
