The food in the restaurant was excellent. The walk up to the third floor with luggage and no porter was not ideal. The staff had less English than was found in other hotels of a similar level.

The room was beautiful and the hotel was historic. Breakfast was excellent and having privacy was ideal. Staff were friendly and accomodating. We did have dinner and although it was good i think it was over priced.

Nice place but beds are FIRM

The hotel was just what we expected from the pictures provided. The room was clean and we had plenty of room, which is needed when traveling with a young one. The reason I didn't give a better rating for our overall stay was because the beds were VERY firm. I was so sore the next day, my husband was slightly sore and my son didn't seem to be effected in any way. My son slept on a roll-away bed so his mattress may have been different from mine and my husbands. The hotel location was great if you want to go down by the water... we didn't get to go as it was raining, cold and late. Breakfast was okay, a selection of eggs, meat, cheese, breads.

Lovely historic small hotel!

The hotel was great and the staff very kind and helpful. The trundle (cot) was unfortunately very uncomfortable. Would definitely recommend to stay here if you don't need the extra bed. Location was just a short walk from the Bodensee!

Romantic getaway on Lake Constance

Great combination of a family owned and operated hotel and restaurant. The restaurant is well known for its quality and gourmet chef. We were here to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary. Beautiful old town, hotel is a 5 minute walk from the boat landing where you can board a boat to cruise the lake.

LOUD, very limited breakfast

Very loud at night when people leave the local bars. This went on for many hours (4am!!!). Then the first church bell chimed at 5am (close to the hotel). It was also very hot, not the fault of the hotel, but we had to have the windows open and there was no fan to help circulate the air. The breakfast offered very limited selection and of that very limited supply; we were offered one cup of coffee but no refills; at all other hotels we were offered a pot of coffee and/or refills and also eggs cooked to order but nothing was offered here. This was very surprising for the best rated restaurant in town. This was the worst stay of our 13 day European trip.

Good stopover in Switzerland.

We stayed one night on our way to the Zeppelin Museum across the lake and on to the Black Forest. The hotel is classic Swiss! No frills, but every amenity covered. Very comfortable beds! Good shower! Absolutely fabulous food! It wasn't cheap, but was worth every penny (or franc). Arbon is a nice little town and we were past the tourist season so it was quiet.

Historic and charming inn - beautifully restored and well-maintained. Excellent restaurant. Staff very accommodating. Room tastefully furnished with modern / euro-style designs and fixtures. Overall a very pleasant stop along my road-trip.
