LIKE: the bathroom was clean and large. The room was roomy and bright. It had a safe. The air conditioning worked well and there was a heater in the bathroom. DISLIKED: it had two single beds instead of a double. The sounds from the street could be heard very clearly, especially when the hotel clerk stood under our window to smoke and speak loudly on his cell or to hold a lengthly conversation with another worker. We slept well. The most important thing. We were in the extension across the street.

I cannot say more about Arles in general as the people here have been exceptionally kind and genuine. So thank you! Excellent location. Warm reception (but hard-sell on breakfast, which we declined). Frosty check-out (perhaps connected to the above). Wonky toilet plunger-tap. No safe in room. A comfortable hotel but with some uneven floors (a trip hazard, but to be expected in a very old building).
