A great value option in down-town Auckland

I booked a harbour view suite and could indeed see the harbour, although if I had been a few floors higher would have had an even better view! The room had everything I needed (including washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board, microwave etc.). The bed was comfortable and the show pressure was terrific! The wifi was fine, but what disappointed was the impossibility of casting from my laptop to the TV in the room, despite following all the on-screen instructions. There was no other way to connect between laptop and TV, and as there were only 12 NZ channels and Al Jazeera sometimes available by TV this was a bit of a blow.

Great value and large rooms!

The front of house are excellent, super friendly and helpful, and the room sizes are outstanding compared to most hotels. Technology like WiFi and streaming to the TV could be improved - but overall it works OK. Having a kitchen in the room is ideal for those on a longer-term stay or who prefer to cook and dine in. The hotel is obviously needing some TLC in most of the rooms, the ones that have been refurbished are much better, so try asking for a refurbished room. Stay on the upper floors and the outside noise - whilst it's not bad, is way less. Great views of the park, city and harbour. We stay in the Akl CBD one or two nights a week, and so far Avani Metropolis would be our preference (other than when they have a cruise boat full of guests when it becomes crazy pricing). Highly recommended!

Had a great 1-night stay here! I booked the Harbour View 1 bedroom Suite and it was everything I had hoped for & more. Don’t hesitate to book the room! I got it at a discounted rate however so full price might be a bit hefty but regardless it was a beautiful stay with a view!!

It's a nice hotel in a great location. Just know it may be a little loud with the bars and clubs being so close but convenience of being so close to everything is worth it. You can tell it's an older building that's been triggered retouched but they did a good job and the rooms are large. We only stayed one night but it was a nice stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Metropolis Avani Residences in Auckland, and I can confidently say it exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived, the staff made every effort to ensure my stay was seamless and enjoyable. A special shoutout to Steven, who went above and beyond to respond promptly to my late-night request for an early check-in on Sunday. While an early check-in to my booked room wasn't possible, the front desk team swiftly arranged a substitute room, allowing me to check in at 8:30 AM instead of 2 PM—a gesture for which I was extremely grateful. Throughout my stay, the front desk staff continued to impress, offering excellent recommendations for nearby dining options and ensuring that re-stocking amenities like towels, laundry powder, and shampoo was effortless. The room itself was immaculate, boasting stunning views and complete serenity—I didn't hear a sound from other residents, resulting in some of the best sleeps I've had all year. Having not stayed at the Metropolis in over a decade, I was delighted to see how well the building has been maintained. The pool, spa, and sauna area remain standout features, kept in pristine condition and providing a truly relaxing experience. I highly recommend Metropolis Avani Residences to anyone visiting Auckland. The combination of attentive service, comfort, and luxury makes it a standout choice. I'll certainly be back again!
