Loved our stay at Metrpolis. The building is of superior quality with lots of marble in common areas… yes some parts of building could be updated and the huge swimming pool, spa and sauna are awesome but could definitely use a paint and maintenance done. Our accommodation was great with lots of space, equipped with washing machine, clothes dryer, dishwasher, very well stocked utensils in kitchen, microwave, oven and full fridge and great wardrobe space. Once again our room was a little outdated but the quality was certainly there. There isn’t a restaurant in building but cafes etc are within easy walking distance and you are close to everything central in inner city. Would definitely stay there in the future as you do get far more value for your money than other accommodation in Auckland CBD.

Avani Metropolis Auckland CBD

Great stay. It’s a regular for us, for good reason. Spacious and clean. It’s starting to look a bit tired in most of the rooms, but not bad overall. The front desk are always welcoming, super helpful and friendly. Being right in the heart of the CBD for shopping, restaurants and cafes it’s not a problem that they don’t offer room service. If you do want to dine in you can get to go food, or can grab ingredients to cook for yourself in the well equipped kitchen. Close to Albert park if you fancy a walk. Overall a great place to stay.

A great way to start our trip!

This is where we started our trip to New Zealand, after a 15.5 hour flight and then 2 hours to rent a car and get into Auckland, it was a great place to be. We were early, reception let us park our car and had our room ready right at two. It gave us time to go explore and have some lunch before coming back to settle for a bit before more exploring. Everyone was great, nice, and helpful to us here. Only thing the room was missing was hand, soap, but that was an easy fix to go buy some for the entirety of our trip. Very lovely location across from the park, our room was up high so we had great views of the entire park and bay. Good food close, and lots of coffee options in the mornings if you didn't want coffee or tea in your room.

It was a beautiful well set up apartment, the maintenance let it down a bit, painting was not up to scratch, obvious water damage on bathroom door, just picky items. what i really didn't like was the toilet flush in the ensuite, nearly broke a finger never mind a nail trying to push it in, We did get only one key - with four adults staying. i'm sure we could have asked for another if it really bothered us as we did for towels when swimming in the pool, I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again if required,

Very helpful staff

The room has kitchenette with all equipment, washer and dryer. Room service replenishes coffee, tea, milk, detergents, etc. And If they miss something, the front desk has it. The front desk even gave us an adapter for NZ electrical plugs.

A great value option in down-town Auckland

I booked a harbour view suite and could indeed see the harbour, although if I had been a few floors higher would have had an even better view! The room had everything I needed (including washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board, microwave etc.). The bed was comfortable and the show pressure was terrific! The wifi was fine, but what disappointed was the impossibility of casting from my laptop to the TV in the room, despite following all the on-screen instructions. There was no other way to connect between laptop and TV, and as there were only 12 NZ channels and Al Jazeera sometimes available by TV this was a bit of a blow.
