I have no complaints about this place. We were there during the nationwide power outage on April 28, 2025, and it was the only place on the street with both electricity and internet. It says a lot how good it is.

The staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful if ever a need arose. Note that the door to the property is not on La Rambla but right around the corner.

I likes the area - but I felt that the shower/tub was totally unsafe because of all of the glass surrounding the shower/tub, the distanced you had to reach to turn on the tub and hated trying to set the proper temperature for the water.

Thoroughly enjoyed everything about Hotel 1898! We were there during the power outage and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Spent time in the spa (30 minutes per day per guest) and enjoyed the experience. Breakfast was amazing, rooms were very comfortable, and staff were always very pleasant. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful interiors! Formerly a tobacco factory I believe. Very warm and cozy. Staff at breakfast were friendly and helpful. Stayed during the big power outage but the hotel was able to still have lights and provide a buffer dinner. Excellent service. Comfortable beds and very clean. Would only suggest a facecloth in the bathroom and a coffeemaker as well as a bottle of water for each guest.

Luxurious bed.

Booked the 1898 for the location on Las Ramblas. It was super quiet. Luxurious. Secure. Most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept on. I want to take it home! Beautiful and relaxing room. Coffee maker and coffee. Fridge. Safe. Balcony. Starbucks downstairs as well as Honest Greens and some other restaurants around. Great location for site seeing too. Lobby is luxurious and smells amazing.

I had a run-in with a staff member who was a Middle Eastern man of about 35 to 45 maybe 5'8 who stopped me at the door when I was trying to come into the hotel one night. I was filming content for my Travel blog, When he stopped me, he became very agitated and aggressive. I did not appreciate this. I am heavily tattooed and have a younger look in regards to the way I dress and it seemed like he thought I did not belong there. I was offended.
