We stayed at Motel One in Barcelona and had a mostly positive experience. The hotel itself is fresh, modern, and very clean. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the staff were polite and helpful. A big plus was that they allowed us to store our luggage for the entire day after checkout.
However, the biggest downside was the room. It was extremely dark, with only a small window facing an internal courtyard or foyer, which meant no sunlight and no view—just other hotel walls. We had to keep the lights on throughout the day, which wasn’t ideal.
The bed and pillows were very comfortable, but the room lacked some basic amenities like a kettle and coffee/tea-making facilities, which would have made the stay more pleasant.
The location was decent—about a 10-minute walk to El Born and the Gothic Quarter. However, the surrounding streets felt quite dark and poorly lit at night, which may be a concern for some travelers.
Overall, it’s a good option if you don’t mind the lack of natural light in the room and bring your own coffee supplies.
