Needs updating

The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable, but the carpet was worn out and pulling up in spots. There was a large crack in the ceiling and on one of the walls. I guess at one time there was a mirror on one of the walls, but all that is there now are the hooks. You had to fiddle with the drain in the tub to get the shower to work.

They can do better

We have stayed at many different La Quinta Hotels. The Islip one had a musty smell throughout the lobby elevator and room. The room itself was a king size bed with sofa bed. The rug was ripped in several places, bathroom door could not be locked, tub enamel was chipped and flaking paint on the bathroom door frame exposed rust, the staff was very nice, but the facility on a whole needs some serious updating. The kicker really was the $100.00 security deposit.

The area surrounding the hotel is fine. I stayed on the second floor the people in the third floor above me were so unconsidered i heard every step the running around it was so uncomfortable. I was so tired and there was no water in the room I had such a bad headache i had no choice but to take two Advils without water i felt so bad and weak didn’t want to to downstairs to get water

Needs updating badly

Check in was great , the woman was very friendly. Elevator was dirty. Place definitely needs updating. The bed was okay, the wallpaper or whatever was all wrinkled in the corners. The rug was falling apart it was so badly worn. The parking sucked when i came back that night that i had to park behind the hotel in a business parking lot. Not going back there again and definitely won't recommend.

The staff was very friendly and courteous. The hotel itself is in very bad shape. The carpet in my room seemed damp, bathroom floor was slick all the time. The A/C didn't work very well; humidity was bad in the room. Bathroom fixtures weren't in good condition, leaking, etc. The telephone didn't work in the room, bad if there was an emergency, etc. Bed was good though. Lastly, the if you are claiming to have a fitness room then make sure that all the equipment is available. There was a weight rack for dumbbells, but only a few of them matched and they were not there. There were no workout towels available in the fitness room, no sanitary wipes to clean equipment before/after use. I will never stay there again. Price was far too high for the standard of the room and amenities. I would have been better in a Motel down the street.

Disappointing Stay

The hotel's appearance was more than suppar from the outset. The lobby and reception area was in disrepair, including soiled chairs and sofas. Our room had a 24" crack in the wall, the carpet was dirty and there was mold in the bathroom in both the tub and toilet.
