I REALLY wanted to love this resort. I was looking forward to it as the highlight of our trip, but it didn't live up to it.
First of all, the view is fantastic. We stayed in the Waterfront Collection- you really can't do any better than waking up, looking out your window, and being steps from the lake and seeing the mountains. It was breathtaking.
Unfortunately, we lost power in the middle of the night. In July. That meant we had no air conditioning and the room was quickly too hot to sleep in. My husband also has sleep apnea so not having power is far from ideal. Finally, because the Waterfront Collection is underground and the drapes are motorized (and come down from the ceiling, not from side to side), the bedroom and bathroom were completely dark up until we checked out (after 9a.m., no idea when power finally was restored) and we had to use our cell phones as flashlights which we couldn't charge. The resort was also the only business around that seemed to be affected?
We tried to keep our 4 and 6 year olds occupied during the morning by taking them swimming in the pool outside of our room, but were told it was closed because of the power outage and there would be no swimming.
Overall, based on our experience it was not worth the $330/night we paid to not have air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, breakfast included, OR the ability to use the pool at all. When we asked if we could get a partial refund for the inconvenience we were told: No.
