Our trip to Boston for my son's 21st birthday celebration, centered around the OKC Thunder vs. Boston Celtics game, was truly unforgettable, thanks in large part to our stay at Hotel Commonwealth. This remarkable hotel not only met but exceeded our expectations, quickly becoming a standout aspect of our journey. The staff were nothing short of extraordinary; their attentiveness and dedication to providing an exceptional experience were evident throughout our stay. Jeff and his team went above and beyond, ensuring every detail was just right, and they even surprised my son with a special birthday gift tailored to his passion for the Thunder. The hotel's beautiful facilities added to the overall charm, making our time there all the more memorable. I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Commonwealth to friends and family and can’t wait for our next visit!

Fabulous Fenway Hotel

Beautiful luxury hotel in the Fenway area of Boston. Gorgeous rooms. Excellent staff. Walking proximity to MGM grand, Fenway Park & house of blues. Fabulous restaurant on site. Excellent choice if you’re looking for a place to stay after seeing a show or game. Loved our time here and will definitely stay again the next time we are in Boston for an event.

Really disappointed with our stay. Not being from the area, the website photos are very misleading. Online pics make it look like your room is truly overlooking Fenway Park. Not true. You get a view of the highway, graffiti covered walls, the backs of buildings and yes, the Fenway Park sign. Parking is valet only and $75. Room is just ok, nothing worth making it the $500 per night we paid. Didn’t even have hot water in the morning for a shower.

A Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience

I recently stayed at Hotel Commonwealth for two nights, and my experience was far from what one would expect from a property of this caliber. Upon returning to my room on the second evening, I was shocked to find that it had not been cleaned, and the bed remained unmade. When I inquired with housekeeping and the front desk, they claimed I had declined cleaning services at check-in—something that was never discussed with me. The manager, after insisting on checking the system, was unable to provide any explanation for this error. To make matters worse, I was informed that no housekeeping staff were available in the evening, and the hotel could not offer a room change. The only solution? Fresh towels and sheets—if I was willing to change them myself. This level of service is entirely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that markets itself as a luxury property. Adding to the disappointment, the manager handled the situation with a dismissive and condescending attitude, acting as though waiving a $40 destination fee was a generous resolution to the hotel's failure. His approach to customer service was unprofessional and discourteous, making an already frustrating experience even worse. Beyond the service failures, the hotel also lacks basic amenities such as in-room coffee makers. Instead, guests must go to the lobby between 6 AM and 10 AM if they want a cup of coffee—an inconvenient and unnecessary hassle. I would strongly advise against staying here.

The concierge offered an upgrade. When we went to our room it was exactly as described in the listing without upgrade. No hot beverage provided in room. No cold storage provided in room. Ventilation in the room was poor - it became smelly very quickly.

A Regular Returning Customer

I love this hotel and have stayed many times over the years. However, this particular trip my daughter brought a friend and we got the room with the pullout bed. The pullout bed mattress was terrible and possibly old. You could literally feel the springs when sit down on the bed, and it sunk in. The girls actually awakened daily with back aches from sleeping on the poor quality mattress. I would love to see that improvement. But love the location and love the oversized room with the pullout option. Great for families.
