I paid for my room online yet when I arrived at 8 pm they told me that no room is available! They suggested I find another hotel while I already PAID for 3 nights at this dirty hotel. I had to wait till after midnight to get a room! The room was dirty and equipment were falling apartment - eventhough the hotel was newly renovated. The breakfast is poor ( only 2 cheese sandwiches). Not recommended at all.

Great Cairo Hotel

The hotel was lovely. It's location is a little different as it's on the third story of a mixed use building, but the rooms themselves were modern & comfortable. The linens and staff were all great. We were able to check in early and everything we wanted to do was in walking distance.

Prepare yourself for a new adventure

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The building is very old but the hotel itself was renovated few years ago and still looks good. As it is very dusty outside, it was almost impossible to kerp the room clean, but when I complained they did it again and it was ok. The breakfast is lirtle bit poor with 3 types of cheese and coffee+ 2 pcs of bread. There's no elevator and the stairs are very high but they were talking about some imaginative elevator that is almost ready, hard to believe! Being at the heart of Cairo the position is good, but too noisy and very smokey, polluted air. Be careful if you have asthma or allergy. I won't be staying again in this area because of amoke and noise. Thanks for the staff for their polite reception and good service.

This is a basic Egyptian Hotel not a Hilton. In room 209 be sure to have staff turn on the water heater as otherwise luke warm at best. Entire bathroom is the shower, typical & OK. Be sure the floor popup drain is open during and after shower to get rid of the water, and close thereafter in case of a drain backup, which can happen - it did for me. Staff is good, particularly the utility guy who fixes things and carries luggage. Entrance in the side of an alcove off the main street. Alcove not glamorous but who needs that? Nice people abound, close to metro and Egyptian Museum.
