Booking in was fine and pleasant. After getting to my room, I realised I had left a very important backpack at my home in Greymouth and knew I had to return to get it. Thinking I would only get back to Picton in time to catch the morning ferry, I returned the key. On my drive back to Greymouth, a friend from there contacted me, saying he was driving the pack towards me and we would meet in Murchison. That was going to halve my journey and I would be back in Picton in good time to get some sleep in the room I had paid for, so I tried calling the motel, absolutely no luck getting a hold of anyone via phone number, after hours service worked not at all, so I spent the night sleeping in my car.

The suite was good and we even didn’t hear any noise from the other rooms. But the TV is switching off and starting to loading even the volume is suddenly going up. But overall we are comfortable to stay.

Wonderful

We got off the ferry from Wellington. and had short drive to this wonderful hotel. We stayed in the 3 bdrm 1 1/2 bath stand alone house next to the hotel. It seemed like a private residence. We really liked this house, the service was great. We had two sifferent staff help us with ac unit (eventually found remote(, and the TV (eventually found 3rd remote). The house was safe, clean, quiet and comfy. Parking was great.

We came at a very busy time of year with a full Site so were restricted to a basic cabin when we have had an ensuite cabin in the past. It was a hot night and it was challenging to get enough air flow while maintaining dark sleeping conditions however, the cabin was clean and well appointed so if this is your usual type of accommodation, it was very good. The bathroom was very clean and freshly decorated.

The bathroom closes tomour cabin (17) never had paper towel in ladies bathroom for duration of our stay. Kitchen had no dish soap, which is hugely concerning when other visitors are walking dishes and then leaving them for next use by others. There were 0 forks in the kitchen. Check in was very pleasant and efficient. Location was ideal for ferry access.
