The staff was quite courteous and efficient. The room was clean but, like the whole hotel, could use some updating. There were some minor issues with the room (hvac controls didn’t seem to work and window would not open; sink and vanity were detached from the wall; grout needed to be redone), but the bed was comfortable.

We have come to NYC three times and every time we stay at the Empire. We love the location and being so close to transit. The hotel is perfect and comfortable… it always feels like home each time we come back. Thank you for another great visit!

The Empire hotel is in a great location for visiting Manhattan as it is across the street from Lincoln Center, a couple of blocks from Columbus circle and Central Park, and a 15 minute walk down to the theatre district. The subway is nearby as well as many restaurants good restaurants to choose from. The room was clean and quiet aside from the usual late night NYC sirens, the bed was comfortable, and the price was fair. Good place to stay in Manhattan.

I had an awful experience at this hotel. The staff were rude and completely unprofessional. Paul was disrespectful over the phone, and the front desk employee with the name tag “M” was unaccommodating and unpleasant. The room was filthy, and the shower head was leaking and broken. To make matters worse, two elevators were out of service, and I got stuck in one with a child inside. Completely unacceptable.

This was absolutely perfect. We were with walking distance to everything we planned to do. Staff was awesome and so helpful. Way to get a taxi. Perfect no complaints.

I've stayed twice so far. Love the Roof Top Bar and the attached Mexican restaurant (Rosa Mexicano). Also right next door to a wonderful gelato shop and Starbucks.

Overall the hotel needs upgrading common areas. My queen bedroom was fine, no view but this was not a problem for me. Very comfortable mattress! Shame the lobby bar is now closed. I missed the lively atmosphere from the old times when the lobby was vibrant and full of life.
