The property is so convenient to Central Park and Lincoln Center that it will always be a top choice of places to stay whenI visit New York. Front desk staff helped me do my check in early so when the room was ready it was a breeze. Downside to the place is that the closets are kinda small.

The Empire Hotel is a NY institution. I don't know when it was last upgraded, but it feels dated. The standard rooms are tiny and mine looked into the building right behind it. The staff were all nice, but I did not care for the early morning doorman who was brokering deals with the taxi drivers. I know this because after I got in the taxi i saw him get a big tip. I got out and called an uber.

Rooftop is the best part of the hotel! Lobby is pretty. The hotel room was so tiny and outdated with an outdated tv. First night toilet wouldn’t stop flushing. Our shower kept flooding. Moist in our room and dark. The hallways were dark too.

Location was perfect. Staff was amazing. Our room had no HVAC, and I think that should be advertised. Thank goodness it was cool out when we stayed because showering was difficult as it was, but it would have been nearly impossible if we hadn’t had a 3-4 inch strip on our window to open. Also, the hotel was very lacking in what I’d assume are basic amenities for a 4-star hotel. No microwave. No honor bar. No to go utensils despite the hotel having a restaurant upstairs. Also we couldn’t access the iconic EMPIRE sign because that deck was closed for the duration of our stay.

The Empire is a regular stay on my list. It is clean and located in a great spot for Lincoln Center. It has a very helpful and friendly staff. I fully recommend the Empire Hotel

It was good. It was a great location. But The room was too hot and the air conditioning until was very old and somewhat skeevy 🙃 The halls were very dark and the was no light above hallway entrance door making it difficult to insert the key card for entrance to room. We were at end of hallway- VERY DARK !! I suggest getting a tap entry system if your not going to change the lighting Thank you Have a great day

Ordered ice and it took so long I had to leave before it arrived. They clearly give you a smaller room if you book on another site other thank the hotel’s. The rooftop bar is nice but a bit pricey.

convenient but in need of renovation

The Empire Hotel is very convenient to the places we frequent. That being said, it needs a face lift. The halls were so dark during the day-time, that I could not find my room. Every room I have stayed in at the Empire, the door to the bathroom had paint peeling off off the frame. It was nice to get water, but it was in plastic bottles, so not very eco-friendly. I was in hotels not two weeks ago where the water was in a carafe (more environmentally friendly). What's wrong with touting the famous NYC water from the tap? The staff are efficient and I will leave it at that.

I didn't like that the hotel offers "self parking", and when you are going to do the check in they said that the self park cost US 80 and in an external parking the cost is US 52 /day. The same occurs with the breakfast, there is not breakfast in the hotel. It is better to clarify in the hotel information to take in the account when the customers are looking for hotel.

Air conditioner noisy, did not cook the room. Ripped rug. Refrigerator not cold enough. Only one washcloth. Hallways very dark and poor lighting. Hangers too high to reach, curtain did not clothes properly ,too much light coming in.

Staff was extremely accommodating to help us with our short stay, especially considering my partner requires a mobility scooter. Very good people, the hotel was clean and well appointed. The price of the room was very affordable considering the view and location we had, although it was very small what can you expect. The walls are very solid so you wont hear your neighbors, unless we didn't have any. Would stay here again.
