We stayed for 4days/3nights. We were given a free King bed upgrade upon arrival. We were also given free breakfast and bar drinks vouchers for each day or our stay. Pretty good (free food). Very lovely/safe area. Took many late night walks around the area and 3-4 blocks down to Lake Shore Drive waterfront. Used hotel parking for $65.00 daily rate, parking is HORRIBLE in the Chi. Had a personal car but used Uber/Taxi. Great clean, safe, accommodating hotel! Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

No help with charges or calls.

Parking was very unclear! We went to a garage we were told to go to and the attendant tried to overcharge. We then went to hotel to check in where we stood in line for at least 30 minutes. Then the lady at desk couldn’t help. Got another person who told me we would get our receipt when we checked out and we did not! Breakfast was good but we didn’t have enough towels both days. It was loud at night. Desk wouldn’t answer the phone the many times we called. Then when I got home I saw a $70.18 charge that says it was made at 5:17 am. I didn’t order anything but I can’t get anyone to answer a phone to help and they won’t answer email. Seems like I’m stuck unless I dispute the credit card bill. Would not do this again. It was very stressful!

Hidden fees for breakfast ( everyone does not eat PORK) there were no turkey, chicken options. Everyone doesn’t drink alcohol! Ice only on 8th & 17th floor. So inconvenient! Uncomfortable mattress. Carpet stained! Couch dirty and stained. I paid over $1200 and I willl never recommend this hotel to anyone

Parking cost a lot. The room was average; there were stains on the carpet, a crack in the sink, and the window curtain was broken. The TV had problems. They make me paid for drinks even though I don't drink and i told them.

The hotel itself is great but the charging system at this hotel is confusing to the point of seeming outright deceptive. Low room rates with mandatory fees that make it pretty expensive. I guess these fees might be buried in the Orbitz info but is far from obvious. We heard several other guests complaining loudly about the fees.

Avoid. So many hidden fees it’s outrageous. Pubic hair in my tub when I checked in. For what I’m paying (which was at least $500 over what I was led to believe I’d spend) I’d expect a clean tub in the bathroom. Was told my incidental charge of $125 would be refunded. It hasn’t. Forced to pay $89 a night for breakfast and an alcoholic beverage (what if you don’t drink???). I was charged $337 for 2 nights for that. The math isn’t mathing. So scammy.

Although Expedia clearly states that breakfast is included in the price paid, as well as taxes and fees, I was ultimately charged an EXTRA $132.27 for breakfast I do not eat, alcohol I do not drink, and attraction discount coupons I cannot use. As a frequent user of Expedia, I am in shock that you would associate and have a relationship that scams your customers into fees post reservation. Expedia, has a long and highly respected reputation for being reputable and honest. However, this is not the case with this reservation. This is the first time that this has ever happened to me, and hopefully the last. Under contract law, any and all additional fees must be disclosed PRIOR TO sale and purchase. I received notification after my reservation was made, and I was getting on a flight to come to Chicago for court in the morning and then departing. Please be advised that prior notification is the only legal way to charge fees if they are to be known and agreed upon. These fees were not known, no prior notice was given, and they were not agreed upon in my contract. These are unlawful fees, as well as discriminatory against those who, like I, do not drink alcohol. Regarding breakfast, it clearly states in my contract with Expedia that it is included in the fee, and there will be no extra fee. Plus, discount coupons for attractions have no monetary value, so there can be no charge for this. Yet, I ended up paying $132.27 EXTRA at check-in, nonetheless.

1) I tried all day to reach someone at the hotel so that I could discuss sleeping arrangements for my stay and make sure the hotel knew that there would be four people staying in my room (my husband and I and our two teenage daughters). I could not find a number that actually connected me with the hotel. 2) I tried messaging the hotel through both the hotel’s website and the Expedia app and did not receive a reply. 3) When we checked in, I confirmed that the front desk was aware I had my two daughters with me and that we would be using the pullout couch, yet no extra linens were present in the room and we had to call late at night after our concert for someone to bring us linens. 4) The pullout mattress was very old and dirty and under the pullout was a ton of old food and dirt. I understand it’s just a pullout, but when I’ve paid for an upgraded room in order to use the pullout for my kids, it still matters how well maintained and comfortable that sleeping arrangement is. 5) The extra fees were extremely excessive and didn’t even provide us with breakfast for my whole family. The advertised price is completely misleading as the final price was twice what I booked it for. 6) The air conditioning unit was crazy loud. Again, I understand this is a historic building, but that’s something very fixable. The staff was pleasant, but the other issues were enough that we won’t be staying there again.

They need to improve there capacity to service check-ins, there was a line that went through the entire entrance that took an hour wait to check-in. They said it was always busy like this. They only had two at the front desk. Otherwise very happy stay here, although we lost a couple hours of our one night stay waiting to check in...
