We recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a poor experience from start to finish. The staff seemed disorganised and unsure of what was happening, giving the impression that the hotel is either in special measures or certainly needs to be.
Breakfast was particularly bad. There were no plates, no cutlery, and shockingly a member of staff was making themselves toast and eating it in front of us. We were told the night before that a full English breakfast would be available, only to find out the next morning that it isn’t served on Mondays. The whole experience felt like we were more of an inconvenience than guests.
Tables were left dirty with old plates and tissues, and even after we left they still hadn’t been cleared. We stayed 5–6 years ago and the decline since then is extremely noticeable. No restaurant or bar available either, which was another disappointment.
Overall, a very underwhelming stay and a real shame given how good it once was
