It's fine and affordable. We saw debris on the hallway carpet when we checked in at 3:00pm and it was still there the next morning. We had to wait a bit for someone to come to the front desk. I do find the concept of not including any kitchen utensils bizarre. Who, other than RVers, travels with kitchen items? They are all for sale in the lobby.

Service was decent overall. However, our experience was affected by two issues: the room keys didn’t initially work, and using the iron caused a short circuit in the room. I think the price is a little high as well.

A wonderful value amongst many hotel and restaurant options, especially if you don't need a lot of frills (no pool, no gym, food for purchase only. The property was well kept, the room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and you could actually open the window to get fresh air. The wi-fi worked well. The single bed room was spacious (ample floor space for two+ yoga mats). The room included a kitchenette with full-size fridge, microwave, and counter-top range (no cooking or eating utensils). We would definitely make this a regular stop when traveling through Des Moines.

Overall, nice affordable hotel with very friendly people. The booking site needs clarification. We booked a room which "Sleeps 3" with a Queen bed. I assumed a pull-out of some sort. It actually was a recliner which really wasn't sleepable as it didn't lock in place and was small. It is really a room for 2 and caused us some issues.
