The Surety is our home away from home with an attentive, caring, and professional staff as well as amenities that you find at larger chain hotels without the uptick in room rate. The in-dining restaurant has an outstanding menu and bar for a business lunch or cocktail after work. If you haven’t stayed at the Surety, you should!

The reason for 2* on staff and service is because of one of the bartenders/waiters in the eating area. Very cold, no energy and seemed to no want to be bothered. Forgot an item on my order. Never checked in on us. It was only 9:00 on a Friday night. Check-in and check-out services were great.

I felt like for the money it was a very poor hotel! Bartender was less than what I would expect. Not a smile a hello like it was a problem I asked for a drink. Room was small floor and rug dirty. Lighting was horrible in the bathrooms. I will stick to the Hilton down town for sure!!!!

Exceptional stay

After this stay, The Surety has become my favorite hotel in the Des Moines area. The room was clean, comfortable, well-designed, and had exceptional ambiance. It was also eco-friendly without being an inconvenience. Every staff member greeted me warmly and professionally. The coffee provided in the lobby was delicious, however, it would be even better if they had coffee options available in our room.
