I was under duress in the airport after a flight was cancelled at the last minute. I searched for hotels available 'that night' and double-checked the dates of my search. However, when I finally booked the room, the dates were for the next day. I contacted Expedia immediately, but the hotel refused to refund even part of the money. This may be 'legal', but it lacks human decency. I will never stay at the Staybridge Suites.

When we checked in the staff was slow to help us. We had booked two rooms and they told us they had no other availability. When we got to our room it was dirty and dingy. The couch looks like was bought in the 80s and has never been cleaned. There was mold on the walls and ceiling in the shower, and there were noticeable spots that were missed when they painted, or worse were now peeling. My husband needed to be seen for medical care nearby which is why we chose this hotel, and we were gone for most of the morning and would come back for him to rest in the afternoon. House keeping never came in the morning. So we weren’t able to have the room serviced our entire stay. Only one treadmill in the gym worked, and there was a line to use it. The other treadmill, bike and equipment was unusable. We booked through a third party so we were unable to check out and go to a different hotel, and the staff was unhelpful when we voiced concerns about the issues. They told us they couldn’t move rooms because they were fully booked, and refused to let us cancel. We were happy to have a kitchenette and the breakfast was edible. Those were the only positive things about our stay. We will never go back to this hotel.
