This place is perfect for visiting the grand canyon. Location is so so close to the cabyon edge of the south rim. The actual lodge rooms are very very dated. Lots of things didnt work. Good pressure in the shower. Amazing location but the lodge itself is very average for the price
The rooms were clean and mostly quiet. Our room was near an external door so there was some noise from people entering and exiting but not excessively. All the rooms are in buildings that are separate from the front desk, restaurants, and gift shop so you have to go out of your building to get there. But the walk isn't too far. The dining hall and tavern are a little pricey, but not as pricey as the restaurants in the other lodges. We discovered a food court with more reasonable prices in The Village on our second to last day there. One negative: they only have starbuck's Pike Place coffee in the rooms and dining areas so i'm bringing my own K cups next time. I would stay here again.
Overall, it was very good however, the night lights outside need to be better hard to read the address on the buildings. The website photo did not indicate they were two story buildings. We were not expecting to go upstairs to our room.
Excellent location for exploring the Grand Canyon. Room was comfortable and the food was good. This had everything you needed, with a grocery store right next door. You can't go wrong with a stay here.
The room was basic but adequate. I liked that we stayed in the park - it was convenient, we could just have a meal at the Yavapai lodge and walk to the shuttle. You park the car right in front of the room. The buffet was nice. The elf burger from the Tavern though was super disappointing and not worth the money because there was so little garnish on it, it was basically bread with a meat patty, very little cheese and a few pieces of marinated red pepper. There is very limited seating in the Tavern but you get seated in the general food court, which was nice.
We stayed in the dog friendly west rooms- Looking at the other reviews I was slightly worried about the state of the rooms- but I was pleasantly surprised. Yes it’s not luxury but it was well equipped and clean and worth the price. Plus I never use hotel shampoo etc usually but I have to say the various toiletries provided were great. Beds were comfortable, rooms were a decent size. The only negative thing was we were given an adjoining room so first night was very noisy with the neighbors next door being up late but the supervisor moved us the next day and problem resolved. Great on site store, easy access to shuttle buses, very convenient location within the south rim.
Brilliant. A truly fantastic stay. It is 100% worth staying in a hotel inside the national park grounds as you can spend as much time at the canyon as you like without worrying about the queue at the entrance each morning.
The hotel had a shuttle bus that ran every 10 minutes to take you from the hotel or camping areas to different locations around the canyon. There is also a grocery store next door so you can buy food supplies - useful to save some money and make sandwiches to take with us for some full days of walking.
We are already planning another visit, and I'm almost certain we will stay at this hotel again.

The room we were staying in was dark and dated, in need of some serious TLC but the bed was comfortable and you compromise on facilities for the location of staying inside the National Park. Couldn’t fault the location or beautiful surroundings. The Market shop for snacks was very expensive, there is a fridge in the room, come prepared.

For a stay in the Grand Canyon Village, it was the most affordable. It was very near the General store with a deli, groceries, souvenirs and anything else that you might need.
