Property is old. No soundproof so twice there was long running event going on in the courtyard which the room faces out to. They should retrofit some better door at least for sounxproofing. If’s honestly horrible

The hotel is a lovely old establishment, one of the first in Hobart. We were very happy with the reception staff as they were very polite and helpful. Although the site shows pictures of the lovely dining and restaurant area don’t expect it to be open unless it’s the peak season,this was not specified on the site and we were disappointed we couldn’t dine there. Our room was very spacious with an enormous oversized bed and a nice view of the old church opposite. A bit dusty behind the bed but otherwise very clean. I would recommend it just for the old world charm and very central location to shops and the harbor.

I was extremely disappointed that the restaurant was closed on the two nights I was booked in. As a regular business visitor to Hobart and being tired at the end of each day I much prefer to dine in house. I have stayed at Hadlys on quite a few occasions over many years and can't recall the restaurant being closed before. This will be a consideration when booking in future.

what you see in your booking is not what you received Book th superior room all photo had a varandah the room that was supplied did not we question the attendance and he advise was the doors do not open, but clearly the photos show people standing out there

Historical gem

Lovely hotel. Loved the pianist on Saturday night. Not so fond of the barman who called last orders at 8.30 on Monday despite the notice saying that the bar was open every night until 9pm. Everyone else was lovely.

Although we paid for breakfasts in our booking, the waitress insisted charging extra for small amount of bacon if I only wanted a poached egg with it instead of the full plate. No bar or restaurant on Sunday evening. Lovely otherwise.
