Our stay at nol kyoto sanjo was one of the highlights of our trip to Kyoto. It was the perfect peaceful getaway from the busy streets of Kyoto, and we often found ourselves wandering "home" to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy the tranquility of this marvelous hotel. The hotel is beautiful--it exudes Japanese minimalism with modern touches and every detail has been taken into consideration. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed relaxing in our hiba soaking tub after many days of walking nonstop. The staff were very courteous and helpful and we enjoyed access to the lounge and sampling coffee and sake. We'll definitely stay at this hotel again when we return to Kyoto. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Hinoki Tub was the Star of the Show

The hotel was beautiful with natural touches like a tree in the middle of the hotel which is open to the sky. One day it was raining and it was absolutely gorgeous. Our room was spacious with a double beds, a couch, a table, kitchenette, washer/drier combo, tv, automatic curtains, rainfall shower and a hinoki tub. Upon check in the hotel provides you with a map of things to do in the area which was very helpful. The tub was definitely my favorite part or the room, it was relaxing and smelt of the wood. The hotel staff was very helpful in sending out bags to our next destination. In the lobby they also have free coffee in the mornings & free self serve sake tasting in the evening with snacks. The hotel is also very central and you can easily walk to restaurants, shops, and even the historic neighborhoods in Kyoto. Overall we loved staying at Nol Kyoto Sanji and can't wait to visit again.

Beautiful architecture

Really really beautiful design and architecture. The rooms felt culturally authentic yet modern. The wooden tubs were such a cool experience. The cleanliness was top tier! Location was in a quiet area that was close to tourist things, without being in the busy, loud areas.

Love this property. We had difficulty understanding how to use washer and dryer as well as air cleaner. It would be have been nice if someone walked us up to our rooms and showed us how to use these appliances when we arrived. The property is very serene but it is too dark, which made it difficult to safely see where I was walking.maybe better for younger clients.
