Too busy to address concerns
We arrived after 4 pm and our room was still not ready. We were told it was still being cleaned (my husband heard the lesson at the desk say that the woman in the room prior wouldn’t check out as she was sick but I didn’t catch that. I hope it wasn’t true.)
We were given drink vouchers for the bar that we never used as we had plans with family in the area and were travelling with our children.
When we arrived into the room is smelled like smoke. I spoke with the person at the front desk who promised that the manager would call me the next day and hopefully find us a new room or “make it right.”
we slept poorly with the smell of smoke in the room or venting in from somewhere else. Nobody called the next day or the following day.
I am aware there were two weddings this weekend and the hotel was fully booked but we would have appreciated for someone to follow up.
The room was not well maintained. A few lights didn’t work, the bathroom tiles holding the shower glass were completely cracked.
Being right by the elevator was extremely noisy late into the night as well as early morning.
For the high price we would have hoped for a more restful stay and more attention when we expressed concern at the smell of smoke in the room. Again we are sympathetic that the hotel was fully booked but the cost per night was higher than other places we looked and hoped for the better customer service under the circumstances.
