The location on Marathon Key is great. The motel is quiet and on a little stretch of beach and a nice ocean view (although there is no water access). The pool and hot tub were nice additions. However, our room smelled very strongly of mildew, so much that it was a little hard to be in there for long periods of time and sleep comfortably.

We stayed in room # 2 below the restaurant and could not get to sleep until 1:00 am when all kind of loud noises stopped, bathroom was clean but not the bedroom flooring, comfy beds,breakfast was ok, good coffee,office and cafeteria staff were very friendly, good swimming pool and jacuzzy, nice ocean view and relaxing but not swimming beach, about 4 miles from marathon city.

They gave us an extremely small room while they had other rooms available. They gave us a room by the road so the whole night all we listened to was the cars. The room is divided with the thinnest wall/door that we could hear the people in the next room breathing. So just imagine how horrible the stay was not being able to relax and sleep at night. To make it even worse the bed had bedbugs. We were covered in bites the next day. Will NOT recommend this place.

Beautiful old school resort!!! The staff was very friendly and welcoming! We chose the onsite restaurant Hideaway Cafe for our 5 year wedding anniversary supper date, and couldn’t have made a better choice! The food was EXCELLENT along with our waiter!! The whole supper staff went above and beyond to make sure our first visit there was memorable, and to top it off they surprised us with delicious fancy dessert at the end! My husband and I loved it here and definitely plan to come back next winter!

this place is definitely outdated. It is somewhat clean, but the room that was giving to us had mildew on the ceiling. So they gave us another room that was better but had a hole in the wall stairs leading to the restaurant have been patched up. I would definitely spend $100 more and go at Fairfield or Marriott. In Marathon the room also has no window, so it smelled cramped up.

Not great at all. Grubby and not maintenaned.

For the cost of this Hotel we expected much more. The whole resort had a very strong unpleasant smell, the room had several maintenance issues such as broken blinds, non functioning door lock, broken toilet cistern, missing light bulbs. Only stayed two nights so didn't bother reporting everything. The complimentary breakfast was a pretty mean offering served in the on site restaurant which was also in poor condition and very grubby which was off-putting and felt unhygienic. The serving staff gave us the same feelings too. We had no coffe maker anx there was nowhere on site to purchase any hot drink options. In every single hotel in the USA we've ever stayed in there's always a coffee maker in the room. Definitely couldn't recommend this place. Sorry

We were given very little information when we checked in. We were not told that a restaurant was available for dinner so we were too late to make a reservation that night. They advertise on the beach, but the beach is sand only, no water access. Just rocks like the coast of Maine. There is a definite lack of help in the restaurant in the morning. One guy running around trying to do everything. He was very pleasant. The whole resort needs a little TLC. If you want anything you must go to the office yourself and get it. The office is open and closed sporadically. Nothing is in the room telling you about restaurants or activities in the area. I will say that once we were able to get a reservation in the restaurant the food was very good. It seems to be very popular which creates a problem if you go out at night, trying to find a place to park when you return. It could be a really nice place if a little work was put into it.
