Excellent location right next to the Grand Canyon. Rooms are clean and area was surprisingly quiet. Lodge is inside the National Park within walking distance to the Grand Canyon South Rim .There is a small market and a cafeteria nearby. Not many dining options other than those.

Acceptable older "lodge, location is more centrally located to park than in the village. Went through 3 coffee makers before they provided one that worked but was at least given vouchers for the cafe

Starbucks in here

A friend and I stayed 2 nights here. The food and beer at the lodge was good, and so was the Starbucks inside the lobby! The shuttle is right out front and easy to use. Within walking distance to Mathers Point and Visitors Center.

The staff was a bit abrupt at check in. The remote control was hardly working. Had to push the start button 20 times to get the tv to turn on. Cleaning staff was friendly and helpful.

Grand canyon tour

Location is within the park. Shuttle bus stop and market plaza are within walking distance. Room is reasonable for us with a family of 2 kids, clean but stanards are not up to the level considering the daily rent. A microwave or hot water kettle would be a good suggestion. There is a prototype coffee machine in the room though. The lodge restaurant common room has a drinking water source and microwave (5 min walking).

Property is old and in serious need of maintenance. Rooms are ok but hallways and stairs are shabby. Check in was perfunctory at best with no information about the hotel or area offered. I couldnt get the tv to work and the desk was to send someone up but said were busy and gave no timeframe so rather than sit in room waiting indefinitely we went to the tavern to watch the game. I went back to desk later and a guy was more pleasant and explained how the transportation system worked and areas we may want to visit as we had no internet connection to check things out ourselves. Overall for the high price of the room we expected far more.

My husband and I booked the Yavapai East property for a 4-night stay in the Grand Canyon for our anniversary/birthday trip and we are so glad we did! The rooms were normal size and as to be expected for a more “wildernessy” hotel. They were clean, well-stocked, and had an ice and drink machine in each building. We had no trouble parking near our room, but were also there when it wasn’t quite as busy (Saturday-Wednesday). The free shuttle was a very short walk away, as was the Yavapai dining hall and tavern, both of which had pretty good food! There was also a Starbucks in the lodge which was great for morning coffee and grab and go breakfast sandwiches. The dining hall area also had a water bottle filling station and microwave, which were very useful! The shuttle was also very easy to utilize/figure out and took you pretty much everywhere. It did get a bit crowded at times, so be prepared for that. The general store was also within a short walk and was massive! It had a great selection of beer, drinks, food, and anything you may have forgotten (I.e. sandwich bags, clif bars, or bottled water). All in all, we are very glad we stayed at the lodge inside the park as it was very convenient to the rim, restaurants, and everything we needed for our stay!

The are and property are absolutely beautiful and the state are outstanding, very professional, helpful and friendly. The only down part it’s Tue dining, at least the cafeteria. We arrived at 7:30 and my wife and I went to the cafeteria. For just over $50 I got a very dry piece of baked chicken, very good green beans, cold mixed vegetables, tough bread and a peach cobbler that wasn’t quite cooked. My wife asked for the beef which was rather mushy, but they only had one piece left so they gave her some Maui Maui which was dry and tough. Her Mac and Cheese was room temperature and her cheese cake want bad. There was no tea just soft drinks and juice that seemed watered down. The town is only a few miles away, my suggestion is to go back into town for a restaurant meal.
