The room was clean but plain, and it was not a good view. In fact, the window oversaw an empty building next door. At check-in, I politely requested an upgrade to a better room and or an ocean view, and I was told there wasn't any availability to do so. Not sure I will stay in this hotel again. Everything was great from the time we arrived. We were upgraded to a ocean front suite which was huge and had spectacular views. WE enjoyed the sister hotel just behind it on Collins ave where we received a complimentary welcome beverage and served continental breakfast. The roof top pool area was nice as well. Beach towels and the use of beach chairs was made available as well although we didn't use them. Staff was friendly and very helpful with any questions we had. We really enjoyed sitting on the patio at both the Penguin Hotel and their sister hotel (President) on Collins Avenue. Liked that shops and lots of restaurants were within walking distance and the Beach was literally across the street. We would definitely stay here again.
