Staff was friendly at check-in, and the property was close to Times Square/other midtown attractions. Negative things: bathroom floor was moldy showing poor upkeep, the drain was clogged when we take showers as well. We alerted the front desk of the clogging issue, and their response was "too bad, so sad, we will call the serviceman the next day" - well, no one came by to fix the issue.

Carlos at the front desk is a national treasure. He knows how to treat customers and made me want to make the Truss my permanent place in NYC.

The roof top garden was closed and that’s why we booked here! No ice machines!! I had a street room, did not sleep for 4 nights….so noisy! For the price we paid each day, it wasn’t worth it!

The room, #307, needs some maintenance. The AC was weak (not very cold) even though it was set to the lowest temp, the shower had a lot of mold stains and the walls were dirty, the bathroom faucet had a steady drip, one of the toilet flush options did not work, the bed light did not work.

Receptionists were very nice and helpful, housekeeping kept my place clean when I was out, double edged sword in the sense that it’s in walking distance of Madison which is what I came for, but also right in the middle of downtown. So many people; so many cars, so much honking. That’s not Truss’s fault though

It was central which was good. Some of the staff in reception were very rude some were friendly. The room was very tired and tatty. Paint feeling off the walls in the room and ceiling in the bathroom, very basic certainly not a 4 star more like a 2 star hotel. Very disappointed with the room. Worse 4 star hotel I have ever stayed in. Would not return to this hotel.

On arrival the lady in reception was a bit off really. A bit rude as we both had misunderstandings re booking. However after that she seemed fine. The size of the room for NYC was a really good size for the price. The shower floor wasn’t the best but plenty of hot water, towels & shower gel/shampoo. Asked for a coffee machine which was put in almost immediately and hit plenty if coffee pads. Our friends arrived before us and were told the rooftop terrace wasn’t open due to construction. This wasn’t highlighted on the website or told prior our visit & that was one of the reasons we booked it. That was disappointing. Apart from these little niggles our stay was fine.
