Front staff was great! But oh boy I gave this place a second chance and I just give up. The shower head was messed up . I was heading ready to shower and when I turned the water on there was water going everywhere! I wasn’t planning on washing my hair and it got messed up . The desk chair was old and had a rip on it

The toilet seat had residues of Urine . I notified the front desk and was moved to another room and as I was going to finally shower what do I find? Pubic hairs I went ahead rinsed the shower and bathe and just left .

The EVEN hotel was a very servicable 2-star hotel with an exceptionally friendly staff. Small rooms, a little beat up, but everything worked, we could get extra coffee when requested and it did have some touches like the small marketplace with snacks and soft drinks. Breakfast was middle-of-the-road with one overworked woman running all the food, but overall we'd stay again, especially considering the prices compared to Manhattan hotels. It's a great location for exporting Brooklyn while still getting fast trains and cars into Manhattan, particularly downtown and midtown.

Great staff, excellent location for exploring Brooklyn and NYC day trips, and the room was a good size, clean and quiet. The gym was unexpectedly very nice with great equipment. We did not eat or drink, but there are many great and east food options nearby. Value was excellent.

This is not a 4 star hotel. It is comfortable and the location is excellent, but it is quite tired and in need of a bit of basic maintenance. Things like leaking shower heads, broken toilet handles, and bits of loose trim on edges really let it down. It is also pretty noisy (you could hear every subway train in our 6th floor room) and there is a lack of storage and surfaces in the room which would make longer stays problematic. There is a charge of approx 2 dollars per bag to store your luggage after check-out, which I've never experienced before. However the location is excellent in Brooklyn, the bed was comfortable, and you'd expect to need earplugs in any city. The in-room "gym" may be of interest to some. We had a discounted rate on the room, which made it cheaper than other 4-stars in the area, which is about right. I'd stay again at a similar rate.

The room was clean when we arrived. Unfortunately, the system was unorganized. We asked for room cleaning in the AM and was not completed when we got back to the room in the PM. We had to step out when cleaning team finally knocked on the door, came back the room, the sheets/pillow cases were not changed. They just made the bed. Hopefully, this cocern could be improved in the nearly future.
