Completely run down, heat didnt work properly, bathroom fan briken, furniture falling apart, paper thin falls you can hear everything in the hallways including housekeeping knocking on peoples doors at 8am asking if everything ok and if they are checking out - not cool when you're in vacation trying to sleep.

The room lacked a dresser, only had a small desk and uncomfortable cchair, broken ice machine s, the soap and bath wash disprnss were broen, part of the room was chipped or not painted, the elevators were hit or missed. The staff was nice.

The hotel advertises parking for a fee located 98’ away. At check in, the desk attendant gave me a small piece of paper with an address & QR code on it. We had trouble finding the garage and when we did an awful human, just screamed at us to get out. I tried showing him the piece of paper and he wouldn’t look at it. Stressed & exhausted we backed out of the garage. I called the hotel over and over & didn’t get an answer. I had to call my daughter who was in my room and have her go down to the front desk. The attendant wouldn’t talk to me. I heard her say I gave her the address, I found a garage and then walked back in the freezing cold to the hotel. (Note: the 2 women at the desk were the only 2 staff members who were unhelpful for our entire stay.) I got in the elevator & the carpet was so dirty I assumed they didn’t have a vacuum cleaner. The other 2 were so small that my husband wouldn’t even ride in them. In the room, The walls were dirty. Paint was peeling off the walls. The shelf in the closet was broken. The drawers in the chest wouldn’t open. There was no refrigerator. I had reserved a Premium room and it was supposed to have one. I even called ahead to verify. (Note: when I told staff the next day, 1 was delivered within an hour.) 1 set of overhead lights didn’t work. The phone didn’t work (couldn’t directly call the front desk). The bathroom vent didn’t work. The shower didn’t drain well. The flat sheet on 1 bed was dirty, covered with black specks. Neither of the a

The property was in poor condition. AC/heat did not work. They had to put a small heater in ther room. ,,( Winter time). I would not stay there again.

Good location, walkable to Times Square. The staff were friendly, and although my first room wasn’t ready when I arrived, a little odd, they moved me right away. The room itself was average and worn, with faded paint, scratch marks, missing drawer handle, and even a shower handle that fell off. The walls were thin, I could hear people and doors slamming past midnight, which shook the wall. I get it’s an older NYC building, but the online photos felt a bit misleading; they show rooms in its best light. Overall, fine for a short 1-2 night stay if you’re out late exploring. I get hotels around the holidays can be pricey, but with the worn condition and broken fixtures, just have realistic expectations, the room can be more worn than the photos suggest, and noise can be an issue.

Booked a few rooms and one of them the shower was leaking and they refused to fix or change room. The other room was visibly dirty, had a random exercise bike in it and again they refused to change the room. Would not book again.

Everything was good considering it’s NYC, but the rooms need major care: night stand lights not working, the dry wall around the air unit destroyed and night stands of terribly poor quality. Luckily the room and bathroom were very clean.

unfortunately my experience in New York , the Gallivant hotel did not meet the expectations based on what was presented online. The room I was given was very outdated, and most of the furniture and features appeared worn. The beds were uncomfortable, and the overall condition of the room felt old and neglected. The photos shown on Hotels.com do not reflect the actual condition of the room I received, which led to disappointment upon arrival. The appearance advertised online was modern and well-maintained, unlike what I experienced. Very disappointed and because I booked hotels for my friends and family on this site . And I don’t want this to happen to them while I book for them.

The WORST Hotel stay of my life! Avoid this Hotel at all costs. Absolutely shameful place and people. What was meant to be the most magical Christmas in New York stay started out so poorly. After 12 hours of traveling we arrived at the Hotel to check in. Rude front desk people that just looked at their screen and handed over a key card and pointed to the Lift (elevator). 1st room. Floor 4. This room might as well have been in the street it was that cold. A 1980s style AC unit sticking through a window and some plastic around it that was with massive holes either sides of the panels. The heater didn’t work and there was a little portable heater on there that wouldn’t have heated up a phone box. The main noise of the busy streets and Fire Station a mere 20 feet away will stop you sleeping a wink. The room appeared to have survived a hurricane or there must have been a mass brawl in there. The walls were all battered and wallpaper ripped. The chairs were stained and furniture full of stains and bits of nasties. 2nd room. Floor 9. While this room had an upgraded heater and the noise had improved (you’re higher up) the recent upgraded heater had been installed and the evidence from the previous one were still there. This room also had all the same damage from the first. 3rd room. You can see where I am going here. Terrible all round and the managers comments to me in the 3rd room were… ‘would you like a refund because this hotel isn’t for you’!! I was dumbfounded by this.

The heater didn't work and it was in the middle of December. There was a breeze coming from outside as well that made the room colder.... and when we complained they just gave us a space heater.
