Being by Grand Central Station, the trains are very close and available to use. The staff at the Westin Grand is peerless. I honked in after a full day of NYC tourist events and the floor manager brought me a bag of ice. And the concierge was relentless in helping us to find our was. Best of all the desk workers were extremely helpful and kind.

Overall, the hotel was good. We liked the location. It was clean and quiet. We were disappointed to be charged a mandatory daily $30 'destination fee' upon arrival when we weren't planning on using any of their amenities. It wasn't clearly displayed that this was the case during booking so it came as a surprise when we arrived.

This is the second Westin Hotel we have stayed at recently and it had the same problem, it's older. It definitely needs updating. The bathroom had mold growing around the shower stall and the shower was clogged. The drapes would not close properly. When I think of Westin, I think it is supposed to be classy. I have been in Hampton Inns that were better. It is in a convenient area. The staff was friendly enough and the breakfast was wonderful but the hotel needs some work.

This hotel is conveniently located in midtown a short distance from grand cenrral station in a safe bustling aeea. The facility itself is well maintained and clean. Most importantly the staff are courteous and eager to help.
