Close but no cigar.

Excellent staff at reception and the bar. Bed was a bit lumpy and the curtain draw strings needed repair on one of the curtains, toilet flush keeps running after flushing so must be using a lot of water unnecessarily. Very good sized bedroom.

Great location, and nice hotel

This was a one night stay as part of a longer journey. The hotel is quite modern compared to others around it, and is in a great location. It also has on site underground parking though it is charged at £15 for the night. The hotel is location right by the promenade but is also just a few minute walk into the town and the nightlife. We were pleasantly surprised to get a complimentary room upgrade on arrive, and found our room to be modern, clean, and very comfortable. The hotel seemed to be very busy as it was the end of half-term. The breakfast was very good, though I think very were struggling a bit to keep up at the time we visited. This was the first time we had been to Southport but we really liked it and plan to visit again sometime. When we do, we will happily stay at this hotel again.

Great hotel only down side was no hair dryer in the room and the gym was locked up - you had to go register downstairs at reception rather then just use your hotel key card- that was a lot of hassle to wait at reception so didn’t bother using the gym which is a shame

We liked the central location making it easy to walk our dog around the surrounding areas which was are sole purpose of choosing Southport/this hotel for our visit. The hotel accommodated us throughout with our dog even putting an extra room availability together as i had not informed on booking about the dog. There was a large wedding on at the time but nothing was to much trouble even at breakfast when the restaurant was busy. Will definatley stay here again.

Upon arrival we were given an upgrade for my birthday which was appreciated very much. Lovely big room comfortable bed and pillows. Nice view of the lake. Breakfast was plentiful and a great choice for all. We would definitely return.

While the hotel was relatively new there was a number of maintainence, issues gents toilets on reception next to dining area, blocked urinal,cover,yet all back panelling projecting from wall soaking wet swelling and heavy leaks from pipework causing slip hazard. WHB (sink) LH had tap to short to reach basin therefore water running everywhere and further slip hazard. In room on 5th Floor AC Fan damaged caused vibration while operating got louder with increase of fan speed.Pigeons within ducting rousting, concerns about pigeon poo becoming airbourne and risk to health if within AC Ducting. Sorry to say as hotel is general quite smart and staff helpful and kind

Disappointed husband's birthday was not acknowledged, even though I informed reservation when confirming booking. Bedroom was functional but not inspiring, fake plants made it look tacky. Breakfast was ok. But staff had to be asked to replenish eggs etc. Bacon was overcooked & like leather. staff never offered poached eggs or other options.

Very difficult to find the car park in the dark and the corridor from the car park was very Smokey. Once inside the hotel it was nice but only 2 lifts which were very slow and had to wait ages for. Service was also slow but room was spacious and comfy.
