Needs major renovating, updated plumbing- hated how I could tell from the shower that someone in a different room was flushing the toilet. Room/hall looked outdated, bed wasn’t very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Surprised at how much of the outside noise could be heard in the room.

two nights in New Haven

Staff, coffee shop and water pressure were all great. The room was very cramped, and Hotels.com said we were reserving a king bed room but it was a queen bed. Room was clean enough, but the Nespresso machine was dusty and broken and refrigerator had food in it. Our AC was broken but we did get it fixed quickly. The location was probably the worst part, to me. All night long, truly through the entire night into the morning, it was extremely loud outside. Both nights. Large groups of people and loud cars and motorcycles roaring up the street. The sidewalk and street are filthy out front, and the park one block over was even worse. Not the hotel's fault of course, but since this was my first time in New Haven I had no clue that this wasn't a nice area.

Ok stay

Came for family wedding. Rooms were small. Our check in was fine. Got adjoining rooms but had to reconfirm day of. Didn’t have a casual cafe - just a restaurant - and snack shop not open after 12 noon. Elevators to parking were troublesome.

Clean room, friendly staff. We stayed Sat-Mon and while the hotel was great, there was quite a bit of noise from the bars & partiers on the street. There was a panel under our window that let in all the sound. If I didn't have my earplugs, sleep would have been a struggle. Not being used to the downtown environment, we didn't feel very safe in the area and chose to drive most of the time when leaving the hotel. The restaurant on the 19th floor was great for our Monday breakfast with a varied menu and well-presented and delicious food.

I love that it in the heart of New Haven, with in walking distance to all the restaurants, the staff was very helpful. The only thing I had a problem with while I was traveling I needed to speak to someone at the front desk, I had a hard time finding a number I got directed to another hotel in another state that was annoying.

You can’t beat the Omni’s location — right in the heart of downtown New Haven, steps from Yale and everything the city has to offer. It's a true gem on the outside, but once you're inside, the experience doesn’t quite match the name or the price. For a hotel that proudly sits in the shadow of Yale and charges premium rates, the rooms and common areas could really use a deep clean and a modern upgrade. There’s so much potential here — with some investment in cleanliness and renovation, this hotel could truly live up to its iconic address.
