BEDBUGS! I stayed on the third floor, room 306. The first night, I didn’t realize it because we arrived around midnight. I noticed some bites but assumed they were from mosquitoes. The second night, we were out all day and got back late again. At around 12 a.m., I turned to adjust my pillow and that’s when I saw it. A BEDBUG crawling straight toward my face. I killed it, pulled the sheets back, and to my absolute horror, they were EVERYWHERE.
I immediately tried calling the front desk using the room phone it didn’t work. So I had to go down in person, exhausted and furious. The person at the front desk didn’t even react. No apology, no concern just said they were fully booked and had no other rooms. He called their other hotel, Monte Carlo, and that one was full too. His only “solution” was handing me trash bags. I told him I was leaving, and all he said was “I understand.” That was it.
They watched me go up and down the stairs carrying trash bags full of my belongings, and no one offered help, no one came to check the room, nothing. They clearly know this infestation exists and treat it like it’s normal. I asked for my money back and was told the manager wasn’t in, but that he would call me at 8 a.m. It’s now 5 p.m. no call, no message, nothing.
What makes this worse is that I live in Virginia 3 hours and 40 minutes away. I had to drive back home in the middle of the night, exhausted, furious, and terrified I’d bring bedbugs into my house.
