I stayed at Hotel V in Gatineau recently and had a mixed but fair experience. There were definitely some positives: the free parking was a nice convenience, and having a restaurant on site was great — although I didn’t get a chance to eat there during my stay. The room rate was reasonable, making it a good option for travelers on a budget. The room and bathroom were small, but fine for a short visit. I did notice that the quilt on the bed was stained and didn’t appear freshly washed, so I chose not to use it — a detail that could easily be improved with more attention to housekeeping. One concern was that there were people lingering outside the hotel late into the night. It wasn’t necessarily unsafe, but the noise made it a bit hard to relax, and it may be something for management to keep an eye on. I also saw a small bug in the room, which looked like a roach. Just to be safe, I washed all my clothes and sprayed my suitcase after returning home. Overall, Hotel V has a lot of potential, with a convenient location and decent value, but a few improvements in cleanliness and nighttime atmosphere would really elevate the guest experience.

En bref, ma famille et moi avons séjourné une seule nuit — et même cette nuit-là, c’était déjà une de trop. À notre arrivée, il y avait des gens louches dans le stationnement. Des ramasseux de vidanges stationnés presque en plein milieu, qui fumaient dans leur camion et nous reluquaient, accompagnés d’une dame qui avait l’air d’être sur le crystal meth. L’accueil à la réception en après-midi était poli et cordial. Les chambres sont défraîchies, sentent bizarre et étaient sales. Aucune bouteille d’eau offerte dans la chambre, mais des mini canettes à 3 $ + taxes, ce qui est extrêmement rare, voire unique, pour une chambre à près de 300 $. Pour quasiment 300 $, il n’y a même pas un déjeuner continental ou un petit croissant inclus. Et le soi-disant gros atout — le spa extérieur — ferme à 22 h, parce qu’il y a des chambres autour. On m’a dit que « les gens travaillent et ont besoin de dormir ». L’endroit n’est clairement pas fait pour les voyageurs de passage. On dirait qu’ils veulent attirer une clientèle prête à dépenser à tous les niveaux de leur séjour… eau, alcool, repas au resto, etc. Sert à quoi un coin lounge qui diffuse l’UFC un samedi soir, une terrasse avec un spa et un foyer extérieur… si tout ferme à 22 h à cause d’une dizaine de chambres autour, qui PEUVENT avoir des gens qui travaillent le dimanche? C’est illogique. Un parfait exemple d’un endroit qui essaie de plaire à tout le monde et qui rate sa cible des deux côtés. NE vous laissez PAS avoir, ne restez pas ici

Bien pour une nuit après une grosse journée de route et boulot… J’ai soupé au restaurant de l’hôtel (bistro Rumeur) et tout était super, mon repas était excellent, le personnels du resto et du lobby m’on offert un super service mais la chambre!… A/C extrêmement bruyante et à l’arrêt du compresseur le bruit (coup poing dans un mur) m’a réveillé quelques fois! La température de l’eau peut changer lors de la douche mais rien de trop extrême sauf très peu d’espace dans la salle de bain!
