I recently stayed at the Rue de Lafayette Hotel in Paris for a quick overnight stop. Overall, it was a convenient and practical choice for a short stay, though it came with a few drawbacks. The location was excellent, easy to reach and close to public transport, which made getting around the city very simple. The welcome at reception was warm and efficient, and the staff made check-in smooth, which I appreciated after a long day of travel.
The room itself was quite basic, with minimal furnishings and limited space, but it was clean and tidy, which is always a plus. Unfortunately, it did get rather hot during the night, but there is aircon. Another small issue was the soundproofing, you could hear pretty much everything from the bathroom, which wasn’t ideal for privacy. The lighting also caused some frustration, as the switches didn’t always seem to work properly.
Despite these inconveniences, the hotel served its purpose well for a one-night stopover. It’s not a place I’d choose for a longer holiday or if I wanted a lot of comfort or amenities, but for a simple stay close to the city’s main attractions and transport links, it did the job.
