This was our second time at this location. First time was amazing. This time was different. Had to try 3 times to get the correct room. I reserved two twin beds. First two rooms were just a king and a pull out bed. Took about 90 minutes to straighten that out. The staff was friendly. The concierge tricked me into waisting 90 minutes to try and get to to buy into a time share. The food is just okay. Upon checkout they practically wouldnt let me check out until I did the review email. They even tried taking my phone to look through my personal email. I finally had to be stern and told them to kick rocks. 48 hours later I got my review email which im doing now. Probably would have been better review had they left me alone. I will not go back to that location which is a shame as my son loved it both times.

Best thing about the resort was guest services, they have your back, shout out to Mariana! She approached us to ask us about our stay and when we said we were disappointed at the steak house and the Brazilian service, she made some calls and the service excelled! I left my headphones in my room at check out and she got them back for me and sent on her day off to my friend that lives in the DR, so they could get to me, above and beyond! We will come back because of her service! Best a la carte is the Japanese, great food and a show, loved it! Thank you Frenchy! . Our room was a family suite in building 36 and it was the perfect location for the lobby and the beach/pool. The cleaning staff took good care of us everyday (we tipped each day). This resort makes sure you have large bottles of water (3 each day). The beach is stunning, white sand and clear beautiful water. You can snorkel right off the beach by the rocks and you will see schools of fish, amazing! You had to get up early to get chairs around the pool and at the beach. The drinks were good and cold! The bar staff very friendly, remember to tip, they really appreciate it! The buffets, first of all I never go to an all inclusive for the fine dining, its just not a thing. The food was ok. Service was slow. Waterpark was great, kids and adults had a blast! Need more seating at the park. Shuttle drivers to the park were great, tip them too! Evening shows are well done, amazing performers! Thank you!

I had a very mixed experience with this property, and was debating whether to give 3 stars or 4 stars. The final check-out process was very inappropriate, which sealed the 3 star rating. The hotel itself, the pools, and the beach are beautiful. However, the hotel is managed poorly from a resources, staffing and details standpoint. Problems encountered REGULARLY: No plates at the buffets. No cups or bowls frequently at the buffets. Out of silverware/utensils at lunch buffet near pool. Left us 1 washcloth (face cloth) for 5 people in our room. On one of the days, left only 2 bath towels. Several times ALL toilet stalls at the beach bathroom NO toilet paper. One bartender and long lines for drinks. Understaffed in general. At check-in (5pm) our room wasn't ready and we had to wait 45 mins in the lobby after a long travel day with kids. Expedia sent a survey asking how check-in went, and I gave a mediocre review on the survey. I was later contacted by the hotel who was irritated by my survey response. At check-out, the agent asked for my personal phone to check for a "survey". I watched as he searched my phone for that prior check-in survey, he then selected 5 stars, and handed me the phone and told me to finish the survey in front of him and that they "needed to take a picture of my completed survey for Expedia to complete check-out". This obviously is not needed, and it was completely inappropriate for him to select 5 stars before handing me my phone. UNACCEPTABLE.

Pros: No seaweed on the beach and in the ocean. French restaurant was great. Many activities for kids and adults. What we didn’t like: - Our concierge was not as smiley and cheerful after we declined the so-called “VIP breakfast” which is a mere time-share. The words can’t describe how pushy and aggressive they were with selling their club membership, even though in the beginning they said that there would be zero pressure. - The buffets are understaffed, every lunch I had to pour water in the cups myself, and ask every waiter I see for a spoon, because none of them have one. Not to mention it was difficult to find a clean table with cups and utensils. - Long check-in. - There are cockroaches in dining halls. - Staff doesn’t pick up the trash on the beach. - At the check-out, two expedia ladies didn’t give us check-out bracelets and stated that we can’t go to lunch after check-out. Eventually, we were given the temporary bracelets by a different guy so that we can have a lunch. - The sports facility is super run down. - SPA is extremely overpriced and not worth it. By having an access to the spa, you can use the hot tub, a sauna that is barely warm (we had to pour like 5 buckets of water on the stones to feel somewhat hot), and an extremely cold swimming pool, that is difficult to enter after a warm jacuzzi. - When we wanted to relax by the pool, animation team would disturb us and be annoying with asking us to give them 5 stars in google reviews.

Amazing resort and beach, many dining options and great shows. Staff… Some of the staff is friendly and very helpful, but... most don't speak English. Most of the guests were from Canada, US and the UK, so it was difficult for us, non Spanish speakers, to communicate with the staff. The staff works long hours for many days in a row, so please tip them if you receive good service, they really appreciate it. Also, stay away from the Concierge… all they want to do it sign you up for a breakfast or lunch, which is a 2.5 hrs presentation to try and sell you a time share. We had a great vacation overall and we are planning to come back next year.
