I was racially profiled and the hotel called the Rapid City police on me, while I sat in the hotel parking lot waiting to check into the hotel. I went into the hotel to ask what time I could check-in. I was told that no rooms were ready but if I gave my phone number I would be called when a room was ready. I left the hotel and returned to my car and sat patiently waiting for the call. 15 mins later I was approached by a police officer asking what business did I have in the parking lot because the hotel had called reporting a suspicious Person in a red car is sitting in the parking lot.

The staff was amazing, very courteous and welcoming. The facilities were not very clean, for a Hilton... main halls and elevators smelled and looked dirty. The room was spacious and quiet, but also did not appear as clean as a typical Hilton.

We love staying at the Tru, clean and always friendly staff!! Allowed us to bring our dirt bikes inside so they weren’t stolen! Very happy with our stays!

The only thing that could be improved is the fact there are no coffee makers in the rooms!! I did not want to have to get dressed & packed up to go downstairs to get a cup of coffee!! My room was at the other end of the hall upstairs so I didn’t feel like going all the way back to the room so I packed up to check out instead of relaxing with coffee in the room. Other than that it was great!
